It's not easy being mean. Especially when, like Phoebe, you've spent three years playing a shy mermaid (on TV's H2O: Just Add Water in her native Australia). But on The CW's The Secret Circle, she fires up such serious witchery as the icy Faye that even Regina George would approve. "There were girls in school that I'm modeling her after," she says, laughing. "You're not sure if they liked you or were trying to steal your boyfriend." The 22-year-old says she aspires to the TV-star-to-Oscar nominee career of Michelle Williams, who incidentally also starred on a Kevin Williamson-created show—Dawson's Creek.
