Photo Essay Books: Name your favorites

This thread is for a discussion of books that combine original artwork, especially photography, with original written content.

I am looking to really add to my list of great photo essay books, and am interested in not just the images but the layout and ways the images are combined with the text.

So if anyone can help me out by posting some of their favorites, I would be indebted forever

Are these published books?
It would be great if you could post examples of what you like, so we can have more of an idea of what this is... Sounds like a sketchbook/journal to me

I think she could be referring to...maybe some examples could be Dan Eldon's photo journals. "The Journey is the Destination: The Journals of Dan Eldon" has written work as well as photos. I really recommend it :] I'll try to post some examples later
