Pierre Cardin F/W 2025.26 Paris

Wow.
I am in awe.
First of all, if you saw what I saw, you have to admit that this show provoked in you more feelings than the whole Milano Fashion Week.

Cardin has to have one of the craziest heritage codes. Not the cocoon. Not the new look. But "how the people in the 60s imagined the year 2000".
And now we are in 2025.
It is mind-bending.

That was simultaneously very good and very bad, and that is its charm.
Spherical bags where half of your belongings are going to fall through.
Laser cut precision to create silhouettes that are completely demodé.
A giant period pad as a final wedding gown.
Even the soundtrack, with the Bach violin partita (enhanced electronically!🤣) was superpretentious and cheesy.

It feels so genuine, so authentic and so at the service of preserving the memory of Cardin that I have to love it.

I still love how Cardin was such an elegant designer... until his cosmocorps stuff. Now here we are. Demna could only dream of such a deranged legacy.

They should have brought the children from a few seasons ago back, though!

Finally, yes, here we go again! I had a quick glimpse at it but will take a long-long-longer look tomorrow morning after a good night sleep, to make sure I won't miss any detail and indulge myself with this peculiar atmosphere!

If you ever need a smile, just do a search for Pierre Cardin on eBay or Etsy and admire the licensed products that existed.

I'd also recommend the biography Pierre Cardin: The Man Who Became a Label for anyone who wants to learn more about him. I loved it, one of my favourite fashion biographies for the insanity of it all.

Oh this is great, and in a way that's somehow based on a sort of intelligent stupidity. There are moments of aggressive literalism, resulting in ridiculous or unwearable garments and looks, but there are just as many moments where I'm stunned by the wearability of things. Some of the outerwear will fly off the shelves (in a slightly edited form), and god knows there are countless gorgeous gowns here for Cannes, the Oscars, etc.

They literally sent down a “sanitary pad” puffer jacket but I am not offended (I think it’s rather cute and whacky  as compared to that lilac lace bodysuit at AM’s Valentino ughr) oh my gawd whyyyy?

Anw I think Lady Gaga should totally wear that black-red cape thingy with the triangle motif in front for her Mayhem promo tour I mean it suits the theme and it would be a good opportunity to bring Pierre Cardin back to public consciousness as a legit fashion label

And that orange bag with circular ring handle… honestly do it in black and make it crossbody-able it will be a great seller

I think the cape section was cute. So were a few other pieces.
This could have looked better with someone capable behind the styling and production… I mean, the shoes look like they came from Rainbow Shops… they also need better models as the casting looks at the level of something that Small Boutique New York Fashion Week would do.
