Polaroid to End Instant Film Production

Yeah, way to stick a fork in it Polaroid. Who the f#@% is going to buy that?

Grr... mass emailing petition around...

Anyway, the aforementioned book is now a website and will be released shortly, I'll be sure to link it all over TFS if I can get away with it. :ninja:
Me too... I won't let polaroids disappear without a fight:boxer:

ooh its up to 5640! :woot:
when i signed it there were only around 800 signatures.

7263 now... two days later. Keep spreading the message, show Fuji that there is a demand. There's another petition around too.

I wonder what Paolo Roversi will do without his large format polaroid
Me too:unsure:
Stock up, maybe. I really hope Fuji or some other firm takes over production, although Fuji film doesn't manipulate half as well as Polaroid

He's so unemployed now.
:cry::cry::cry:

For those of you out there also stocking up on Polaroid film, amazon.com and ebay have quite a few people selling at reasonable prices. I've gone to 4 places in person to get film and one of the places was selling the film for literally twice the normal price:doh:

I wonder what photographers, casting agents, designers are going to do. Polaroid film is expensive! But I will need to stock up

There was actually a photo wall backstage with digital photos printed out, it actually looks pretty cool. I'll post the photo.

That's ridiculous, production won't even be pulled back until the last quarter of the year. Way to milk it.

I bet those are gonna be "collector items" (the camera most likely.) I'd stock up now and then I bet they'll be worth money later.

Lame.Polaroid instant film should stay alive simply because the fashion industry uses it so extensively.I hate most advancements in technology ,they always seem to replace the good things.

^ Talk about a huge use of paper now too. They are going to have to snap, print, snap, print.

True.Maybe they have polaroid film stockpiled so they can have enough to last a while longer?

I think it's mainly stupid.I pretty much hate digital photography.

I love digital photos because you can really see how someone looks but, the polaroids have a nice effect (esp. when shooting models, just look at DNA's polaroids.) And what are they going to call them now, polaroids or models digitals.

That's what I thought, but the photo store (different place) by my school says they're not going to be restocking on Polaroid film:unsure: It might just be their decision though.

Digital photography is too easy, anyone can take a good picture with a good digital camera. It kind of takes the art out of photography... a lot of my photog friends are getting refurbished old manual cameras and lomos etc because it's it's difficult to develop photography skills with a digital. Manual cameras make you concentrate on composition and lighting, because there isn't a digital-brain to correct lighting and focus for you.
