We did our first feature on Polina back in june of this year when she was just starting in NY. All that we could tell at that time was the sweet story of a newcomer in the industry. Now time went by, a season too. If runways haven't been her strength so far, she's quickly turned into an editorial specialist and a photographer's darling. Jonathan Leder wanted to shoot with her again and again after he did her first tests. Red De Leon did a couple of impressive ones too and there's a story by James Mahon printed in Nylon. Such an exciting line-up, still growing. More to come and more has come already. Being one of the 13 cover-girls of current French gives her a real place in the season's spotlights and in a way that's how we met Polina in Paris, even if it wasn't in person. Among the freshest ones to get the cover and the most striking in the editorial inside (see above, by Thierry Le Gouès), she didn't need to read the notice to find out how to pose. Was clear since the first tests, looks more than obvious now. Next steps will probably have the same prestige as French and if her yellow tee says "relax" Frankie didn't say "don't do it" this time. She already did it, anyway.
