First Prada collection I've really liked in a while. Bravo Miuccia and Raf.

I was expecting much more, both from the clothes and even more from the cast.

That was hideous. Everything looked ill fitting, unflattering and stiff in all the wrong places. The color palette was drab and the prints were some of the worst in brand's history. She is really lost and Raf makes it even worse.

From now on I am going to pretend that Miuccia's outfits at the end are the actual collection because it's always the only positive thing about Prada shows these days .

there are glimmers of beautiful ideas, like those scarf jackets in leather or whatever the material is, and those bangles/jewelry peeking out under it.
It’s a very uneven collection. There’s some really ugly ugly clothes in here and some moments of beauty. Reminds me of early rtw collections he did at Dior, where it was also really uneven.

Soundtrack is cool.

But still, it’s lacking a directional voice we all used to love from Prada.

I’ve made a peace few collections ago that their raison d’être nowadays is just to review old collections and mix them with RAF’s sterile and lifeless aesthetic. There were moments where you could see glimpses of Prada (some jacket or dress or print etc.) but it’s all being tramped by overcharged idea of intellectualism which at this very moment is not fake it’s just sad and kind cringy.

Btw. Heard from my former SA that Prada runway is now 3-5 % (used to be close to 10 so runway is just their marketing exercise) of actual stock and most money are making from reedition of old bags…

Wow, dresses with jeans ~ Raf thinks he is still at Dior 2012.
All the oversized baby doll dresses look like Comme des Garçons x Junya but are done by Marc Jacobs.
So many stupid folds on the skirts' waists made the underweight models gain 30 pounds.
Raf just proves time and again that he hates women; it's so unflattering.

The only think I like is the plastic fur coat self-referential to his CK era.

I’ll speak for the devil, but held at gunpoint and forced to choose between this Prada and the studio Gucci, I’d choose Gucci.
This has too many ugly things while Gucci is inconsequential.

I enjoyed it.

But some pieces looked like Prada’s attempt of doing a Marc Jacobs collection inspired by Prada (some looks reminded me of what Marc has been doing recently with the doll-like silhouettes + his S/S 2015 collection).

They need to cast models with muscles of the lower extremity. Some models are shaking in the décolleté.....and they are not very high like 90mm.

And too much bags on the runway! It ia a bit annoying.

For once, RAF looks decent when taking his bow.

I think at this point I should maybe make peace with the fact that the Prada magic is gone forever.

The collection was there, good, decent and forgettable. All the elements of Prada mixed with the elements of Raf were there.

But I feel like Prada by Raf and Miuccia has permanently lost it capacity to inspire the way women dresses. It doesn’t feel fresh or desirable.
It looked familiar and I think the striped down styling helped in making this looks good but in reality, there’s nothing to grasp in it.

Ultimately, the limits of RAF’s visual language are showing seasons after seasons.
If Miuccia decided to put florals and denim on the runway, she would have made it a statement on it own. With raf, it’s « ok let’s put jeans, it looks modern ».

Best look: Miuccia Prada.

Raf is another one who thinks pretty clothes are oppressive. He’s intentionally doing this bc revenge of the nerds.
