I love Carey and even though I don’t especially love the results, it’s a welcome change. I’ll take kitsch over pretense any day. Sell the damn fugly collection and stop trying to pretend it’s meaningful. This is a step in the right direction.

If the goal was to evoke the transformative power of fashion, it’s a fail.
I don’t know why but actresses needs more to be convincing. More than a few wigs, it needed a set, a narrative, an actual sense of emotion coming through.
This campaign is the job of a model.
Meisel has done this many times. I think about Raquel in VI for example.

It all feels flat.

what is with this shift to using celebrities in their ads…. I miss models only campaigns. I never thought Prada would use celebs in their ads…. Shame.

I really like it even though it’s more Marc Jacobs than Prada, especially with the gallery-style layout. With that being said, it has a more human touch, whereas Willy’s campaigns felt cold and synthetic. I loved the collection, so maybe I’m biased!

Prada is doing relatively well compared to other brands, so it probably wouldn't be a great decision if they changed their formula during an upswing.
