Preen S/S 08 NYC

i think they are good designers but they went from classy to a bit on the skeezy side , the girls hair is sexy , but it looks like you know ..they just came from the "job" lol

Sooo L.A.!
If they wanted to break into the american market in a big way, this is it.
Very different from their past collections but perhaps this will give them a much bigger audience (people who actually buy the collection).
While it doesn't come with bells and whistles, it does look much lighter in every way and that's always good.

that first statement worries me and says it all lol

Some of the last dresses are good (namely the ones Julia, Sasha, and Raquel are wearing). The rest of the collection is sort of "meh" bordering on "ugh".

I like the whole slouchy, baggy and tight, strappy themes running through the collection but some pieces were more successful than others.

Oooh I adore it, so light and summery.

And that shimmery one shouldered number on Sasha is pure sexy!

I'm not a fan of the cutting or the silhouette and I feel as if I've already seen all of this stuff before... but on other runways.

this does look a lot like stella mccartney....
but as an isolated collection, factoring out their evolution as a label and their previous collections, i still love this....
it is light and breezy and looks beautiful....

the colour palette is gorgeous....
the oranges and the dark greys...
the blues and all the white and cream....
it is so fresh and pretty and wearable....

it may not be groundbreaking but it's beautiful imo...
and i would happily wear a lot of it...

preen has been one of the collections i've been looking forward to and i am not disappointed!!!! love everything!!!!!

i think that these tiny picture posts are really not a good idea...
they are way too small to really see the clothes and it takes way too long to click on each one to get through the whole collection...

I personally believe if you're truly curious to see a collection, HQs are a great way to start off a thread. You see as much detail as possible, the fabric is clear, and little accessories you wouldn't otherwise see are visible. And if you're not so curious, you needn't worry because Style.com and Elle.com post the entire collection within a few hours. ;)

^yeah HQ is great but to see first a collection style.com size is better to have a quick view on the outfit... then when you like sthg you click to see it better, to see details... or when you hear ppl saying the textures are good you wanna see...
but first, hnestly i prefer a quick and brief view on the silhouettes, the outfits, the general looks... HQ post are good at the end, imo...
and + it's boring to click for every outfits (happy because i use mozilla so can open windows on the same page...)

i have to agree with softgrey on this one...
i hate the HQ's...
it is such a pain to click on each and wait for it to load...
and you dont get a feel for the collection as a whole because you have to examine each photo individually in its own screen....then you have to click out of it, go back to the main post, find where you were up to and click on the next little thumbnail-

it's tedious and boring....
i dont see what was wrong with the old system?....
the style.com pictures one after the other directly here on tfs....
imo it's a great way to see the collection---and if people want to go and see the HQ's to check out the detail, they can feel free....

I agree with softgrey and adorefaith. HQs are like the icing on the cake, to choose which you want to peruse closely after getting a feel for the whole collection with the usual style.com/catwalking/firstview sized pics. That's my favorite thing about the individual fashion threads. Even worse is posting the style.com sized pictures as thumbnails, as has been done recently... it's so incredibly tedious to click on them one by one. I might as well just go to style.com.

thanks for your input...BUT...
we are going to follow the guidelines that have been established after YEARS of trying different ways...

*those little images disappear from getty after some time and then our threads are left BARE with NO PICS starting them off...
not very good for the overall picture...
we know what we are doing here ---

*thanks for your cooperation...

preen has been moving slightly further away from its roots for a while now.....becoming much more body concious but they did keep some of their integrity - interesting staps and a desire to innovate...but this is just so disappointinly ordinary. stella maccartney indeed.

yep, old preen was better, but that's not to say it's entirely bad, some of the dresses are really good actually...
