Between two official events during their 2 days visit in New York City, Prince Haakon of Norway and Princess Mette-Marit put on casual clothes to go shopping unnoticed in Soho (Gap, GStar) and have a drink one-on-one at Delicatessen Cafe on Prince Street in Nolita. She looks good most of the time but I wish she wouldn't dye her hair that blonde. It looks a bit too artificial IMO.

I think it works because she is a princess of a Norwegian country which is kind of what they're known for. The color also works well on Elin Nordegren. But what doesn't work for her is the awful fake tan. Obviously this woman lives in a country where snow is prevalent....she's not going step out and five minutes later look like she took a vaca to the Riviera. I'd have to say the same for the Princesses of Sweden.

I'm from up there myself and few people have that haircolour at her age so I think she could work a more natural look without anyone batting an eyelash. I agree with you about her tan. It's far from a natural look.

^hmmm maybe it's just for "appearances sake" then. I happen to like it but then again I just dyed my hair the same color so maybe I'm a little bias
When she first got engaged to Prince Haakon she had her natural blond color, it was more of a honey blond. Not sure why she dyed it.
