I have a friend getting married in february (in a low key non conventional wedding) and she wants a navy blue quality wrap or pashmina with a little bit of embroidery in the same colour or another muted colour. ANy ideas of any sites/shops when I could direct her to have a look?

Help much appreciated!!!!:flower:

bump can anyone help?????????? please!!!!

Send her to Pakistan on her honeymoon .

Seriously, I would think that London would be a good destination, having a large Indian and Pakistani community. The best wraps will come from those countries I would think. My friend brought this amazing huge hand-embroidered rug when he went to Pakistan - I can only imagine how much it would cost here :doh:.

yes but she needs s/th for her wedding...not the honeymoon. she is in edinburgh not London.

Is there not an area with a good asian community...shops etc, they've usually around where the temples/mosques are: somewhere in edinburgh?...Look in some of the sari/asian clothing shops they often have stuff along those lines...Could she not always buy a navy pashmina then take it to someone to get some detailing put on it?...that way it would be unique to her too. An alterations/dressmaking shop or something...

in my neighborhood;)

.....seriously though, I'll keep my eyes open in Little India...

...or you could just buy the cheap ones on the street and have it embroidered by a pro.

Glasgow might be a better option to find one than Edinburgh - try the south side for a plethora of Indian shops.

Probably a better bet though is www.mypashmina.co.uk and they embroider whatever you like onto the shawl! Costs up to £175 and can take 6 weeks. (the pic isn't exactly in "Muted shades" like you asked for, but seeing as they do whatever you request....)

Hi
Is it just coincidence. I was just about to research hand embroidered pashminas prices online, when I saw your post. An Italian friend of mine with a very good eye brought, some back from Kashmir recently
