Quest for Lanvin in the US

TA-ta, I was reading the Nov.Vogue, and there was a little note regarding one of the pics in the editorials almost at the end of the magazine. it said that NOrdstrom carries the Lanvin skirt shown in the picture. It was surprising to me, but it doens't hurt to give them a call right?

Thanks for the tip, Caffeine! I will also look in Vogue. They don't carry my size in designer at Nordstrom locally (or yours), which ticks me off, so I usually don't go in that area. But I will check it out! And check into what they carry elsewhere.

PS Unfortunately there is no pic online of what I'm looking for. I will post pix of whatever I end up getting tho :)

^ Do you mean the ones I posted in the Lanvin resort thread? :)

I guess so...so you want something not in those pics? I'm curious which one was the one you liked :flower:

I like the blouse pictured in Bazaar, although I'm not sure how flattering it would be. I know I will be able to find blouses/campshirts/etc. from the resort collection, just not sure about that one in that color yet ... we'll see :flower:

Btw, saw the skirt in Bazaar you were talking about ... and occurred to me it does make sense about Nordstrom, because Jeffrey of Jeffrey's fame is in charge of designer merchandising there (or some such title ).

Well I went by Nordstrom's designer dept today to confirm they don't have Lanvin here ;) and indeed they do not ... designers represented in a major way are Armani and Valentino. There was a fair amount of Lacroix, some D&G, and then Milly, Tracey Reese, blah, blah ... this label called Mothballs that makes one of a kind pieces from reclaimed cashmere in the $350 range :p Those of you who are into customization would be well able to make them yourselves in a couple hours. Oh, and one very snotty SA. I got thru about a third of the dept without seeing an SA, and then this chick comes out and says Hello!!! in a tone you might use if you found someone in your garden uninvited. Only the second time I've ever encountered rudeness at Nordstrom. Not to worry, she was appropriately snubbed :innocent:

I also noted that they do carry a wider range of sizes than I had thought, just not much of a selection. I think the largest size I saw was 46--Italian, I guess it was.

Kirna Zabete did carry Lanvin- not sure if they have the current resort collection, however. They had a great purple dress from the spring collection marked down about a month ago. HTH.

so did you call linda dresner?...

Yes, I did ... I think I may have mentioned above ... believe they were the only ones who could tell me what they'd ordered from resort. All the tips you guys gave me paid off :flower: In terms of, they all do carry Lanvin. I am planning to call 'em all back here before too long ... supposedly resort is in stores starting this month ... but from what I hear about their shipping schedules, that's prolly about as mythical as your average unicorn ;)

Jeffrey's was the funniest ... it was by far the most New Yawk (strange considering it's a transplant--maybe they tried to hard to go native :innocent:), and I got transferred 3 or 4 times.

We'll see how it goes :innocent:

Have you tried Barney's? They carry Lanvin online, so it goes to reason that they would also carry it in their stores.

well...
the STAFF wasn't transplanted......
i never really go to jeffreys...i don't really love the selection tbh...

the linda dresner people have incredible taste...
that's where i got my yohji wrestling boots...
they have great stuff...imo...
...

You're so right, softgrey, there's nothing there ... and yet I have this clear memory of writing it ... maybe it's one of those posts that tFS blew away as I was trying to post

But yes, I was impressed with them & how organized they were. They were the ones who were able to give me the pricing information.

Interesting about Jeffrey's ... they get all this publicity ... but as we all know, it doesn't always equate to excellence, does it ;) True about the staff, but at the other places I called & have dealt with in NY, I don't really hear all that many native accents. At MJ for instance they cultivate this particular nasal thing, but I don't think it's native to anywhere  But at Jeffrey's, these folks were true blue. I don't meet enough New Yorkers to be able to map all the accents (Long Island and Queens I know), but Jeffrey's seemed to have collected one of each kind :p

Thanks, Greendrv, I did ... Barney's didn't order any Lanvin resort ... puzzling  Maybe since they just now got their fall shipment, they are counting on it to hold them over till spring ... dunno.

I hate that the the Lanvin Flat boots and Ballet Flats are to die for and impossible to find in the USA

So sorry to hear that fashionsta-ta.. I have the same problem with some Chloe shoes atm.. :( It's really stressing.
