who knows if its real chanel or not. I dont really care. It's just the sheer fact that this was invented. (from ebay):innocent:

That is actually nice...very easy to make though

I think the Marc by Marc Jacobs plastic bandaid holder is really the dumbest. It's just white plastic tag that says Marc Jacobs on a ball chain.

actually they're really big in mainland China.. when i was there everyone even remotely trendy was smoking YSL, Cartier..
They weren't much more expensive than the usual.. I think it's licensing - they sold the naming rights for cigarettes in China only..

I remember the YSL cigarettes in the late 80's. It was a really unfortunate and bad decision on YSL's part. Its took a while for them to rebound, because they were starting to slap their name on EVERYTHING. I read this in a book called The End of Fashion..... CRAZY!!

carry your wrigleys in style with this lizard holder from hermes

Just out of curiosity, do they actually sell a lot of these items? Or do they generally just make one or two of each for the logo-obsessed billionaires?

^ they are generally priced to be accessible to most people- so a chewing gum or post it holder from hermes is attainable compared to a birkin.

My godfather has the Gucci ashtray I believe, I want it. Pointless accesories are great, silly and pointless but I still adore them. I have the Ralph Lauren tennis balls, I believe I got them as a gift. These things are all great for that, gift giving.

HAH I was looking through a book about useless japanese inventions the other day and having seen all the stuff here I came to realize that alot of these stuff here actually make those useless inventions look purposeful. And to think they actually came from big name designer houses as opposed to some salaryman who enjoyed life to the fullest. Now I don't know what to think...but this is the best thread ever!

As a smoker...i would love to have that Gucci ashtray on my living room table even if its for decorative purposes...thats the only thing i like here.
