Rachel Comey S/S 08 NYC

I like some of it only.

It feels far too reliant on the styling. Take away the quirky glasses, hair, makeup and background and I'm not sure if there's much to write home about.

very nice collection.nice colors,nice prints,good shapes of pieces.i like it!also love the glasses^_^

To me, Rachel Comey is all about her prints. She seems a bit less heavy-handed this season in regards to the former, but I do think a lot of aspects are cute. She never seems to 'wow', though.

i dont know what to say... because i dont feel too atracted to it right now... but if it was Miu miu... i am quite sure everybody would be saying: WOW! HOW RETRO! HOW COOL! MIUCCIA IS THE BEST!

Wow, I really like this actually! Pretty interesting (and the glasses are too cool!)

The glasses are a perfect touch. I love all the looks. Awkward, but oh so dorky-cute. I really enjoyed this one.

it feels like seeing a depressed version of a paul smith-collection, but maybe its just those glasses.

Im missing some vibrant colours

Very nice.I would wear almost every piece. They look so feminine, especially the ones with vibrant colours

Rachel Comey, who attended Miss Porter's School in Connecticut before studying sculpture in Vermont, could be described as a homecoming queen of the arty downtown set (one of the Marsden girls modeled for her Fall lookbook). And the designer's Spring show, staged at St. Patrick's Youth Center on Mulberry Street with live accompaniment by the three-piece band Barbacoa, had something of a prom atmosphere. After looking to the Amish for inspiration last season, Comey said she wanted the current collection to be "playful and a little bit naughty." High-waisted flower-sprigged shorts worn with pretty blouses and modest jackets still had a pinch of Big Love plainness, but bustiers paired with slim, cropped pants and dresses with lingerie details added a hint of Grease-style sauciness. Seemingly demure dresses had racy T-backs. The show, which focused primarily on texture, was somewhat repetitive and overlong, though it also offered proof that Comey is graduating to new levels of maturity.

rather mind numbing if you ask me,considering how quirky her aesthetics used to be. she's always been a great tailor, but it all looks so saturated in overt commercialism. i don't see her typical personality in this at all. quite disappointed.

This is one of my favorite collections of New York. Simple pieces but easy to play up into something cute and girly. I would definitely wear most of it.
