Ralph Lauren 'The Icons Collection' 2016 by Steven Meisel

Would be nice to have men's shots as well. I hope!

Beautiful but seriously boring... and why are these girls who are virtually unknown to anyone outside the fashion world cast in Icons collection?:-) okay, Stella Tennant is an icon but the rest?

WOW .. I am probably the only one who is not impressed at all!

It is boring & not Ralph Lauren at all
This shoot could have been something for anything (campaign for local brand or editorial for any magazine)

+ Would have liked to see American beauty Carolyn Murphy for this iconic American brand

You are not the only one at all. This is what happens when the photographer ignores the brand and sticks with his favourite models. Stella Tennant is anything but Ralph Lauren but at least she is the only model that can be called an icon.

i think the clothes are the Icons. Thats the name of the collection. all his iconic pieces, not the models. also this is 100000% better than the last few Icon campaigns with Ronja. not even a comparison.

Bruce did it better. Those Polo images from the 80s/90s remain as lush today as back then.

Take away the B&W and the Meisel cache here, and this is just a nice, polite department store campaign.

Funny thing is, though, Ralph has rarely ever used American models, especially for his campaigns. Most of the iconic and long-lasting faces of this brand tend to be Russian or Brazilian.

I see! Thanks for clarifying :flower:

What a fabulous set of images, very representative of the Ralph Lauren brand and as one should expect Meisel truly nailed it. This feels like such a fabulous collaboration and there isn't one girl who does a disservice here.

It's a nice campaign. I don't know how some of these girls are icons, but they're all gorgeous.

Is that Stella's daughter? I could have sworn it was Mad Manning.

Agreed! Even Bruce's current campaigns surpass what Meisel presented here. Every shot looks terribly dull, especially for an Icons campaign.

That's not the point...
I don't get why people complain about the cast. It's a diverse group of women of all ages and backgrounds. What's not to like?

Because their favorites are not in it B)

Nice campaign but not exceptional. Definitely better than the previous ones, and the black & white approach is great. The lifestyle and overall universe of Ralph Lauren is nicely reflected

So despite all these images on here, the inly ones I've seen so far are Ralph's and Vittoria Cerretti. Never get why brands release 20 shots, but very few goes to print (see Marc Jacobs!).
