This it the most B.S. service I have ever received from a store. check this out..

I went ahead and decided to go the cheap route last month, and bought the S.M. Miss Marple knockoff.
I thought, OK, I love the style right now, but it's trendy and I might not like them in a few months, so let me NOT spend $710 or whatever it was for the Louboutin's -I'll just get these cheaper ones because they've done a really good job on knocking them off.

I would have bought them from Zappos, but they didn't carry the style at the time. So I went to Stevemadden.com. It was my first time buying Steve Madden shoes, and I was not aware that they ran 1/2 size large. It would be really nice if they would make note of that fact on their website!
So I ordered my normal size and when I got them they were too big - I was walking out of them so there was no way I was going to be able to make them work.

I inqired about exchanging for a smaller size. they told me that I would have to do a new purchase for the new size (paying shipping again) and send back the ones that did not fit (they never disclosed the fact that I would be charged for return shipping!) which means that I would have had to pay 3 shipping charges to get the right shoes.

I had to print out their label, drop the box at the P.O. and wait.

ONE MONTH LATER - I still had not recieved credit to my credit card, even though they had notified me that they had processed the return.

I had to email them more than once to remind them to credit my CC, and FINALLY today ( 3 days after they promised that it would be done "immediately") I got another email saying that they have credited my card. But get this - they deducted $6 for return shipping!

I paid $108.90 total for the shoes, I'm getting 93.00 back as a credit. Basically, I have paid $15 for the joy and priveledge of going through the hassles of getting shoes that don't fit, shipping them back, and having to wait a month for the credit.
Nice.

I once bought a pair of silver flats from SteveMadden.com that did not fit - about a year or so ago and it was the same lousy service. I will never shop there again - occasionally I am tempted by less expensive shoes for a trendy look available in a size11 but it never ends up working out for me if I buy them online. With Zappos service it's a wonder anyone would buy shoes from Steve Madden site - I find their stronger styles will usually show up on zappos if you wait a little - sorry this sucked for you.

Can't you return to thier store? Every other company lets you do that, and then make them waive the shipping at the store...Strong arm them!

Thanks Rinnacess. You're right, the Marple knockoff DID show up on Zappos!

No, they wouldn't allow such a logical thing. I guess that would be making it too easy for the customer or something.

Their policies are moronic.

Well CL's service is almost as bad, ask satine112, she had to send her shoes back TWICE (and pay for it everytime)because first they were too big and then they were falling apart after wearing them twice. Now I don't even know if they repaired them or not... and this is for 600$ shoes!!! You'd think you're paying for the service but I guess not.

Oh yeah! I remember her CL's broke down. I'm surprised they even took them back. total crap return policy - in fact, every time I buy shoes from the L.A. Louboutin store, they DRILL me on the fact that they DON'T take returns at all...what's up with that? awful.

I also had a Louboutin shoe brerak down on me. I hadn't worn my leopard sixties heels more than 10 times before the heel taps fell off completely, exposing the screw in the heel. I had to have them fixed because they were unwearable in that condition.

these were $710 shoes.

I've had cheapies that last me forever. paying $710 for a pair of shoes that fall apart in 10 wearings or less is completely unacceptable.

That sucks libby!
It doesn't matter how much you pay, good service should always be there!

liby write them a letter. Proof read it many times and then send it.
This is crap..

I did - I sent an email, actually!

did I spell a lot of things wrong in my post???

^ No I didnt mean that.
I send letters all the time and it is important to make it as professional as possible so that it really drives the point home.

im very sorry to hear about your experience with them..
it makes me more cautious

yes - good idea.

The only way anyone should ever buy from their crappy website is if they KNOW the size they need! Which probably means you've tried them on alreday anyway, so it would make more sense to get them in store if at all possible...or just do zappos.

Gee, what CRAP service!! Did you speak to a manager in the beginning??

Thanks for the heads-up, I definitely won't be ordering from them anytime soon!
