Model Raquel Zimmermann is 4th in specialized site models.com. Only brazilian in the first five positions, she's praised for her career's longevity, profissionalism and passion for her job.

She rocks Brazil again right at the begining of Winter 2007, as Animale's star in Fashion Rio, January 15th.

From NY, where she lives with husband and photographer Ruy Sanchez Blanco, Raquel was interviewd by Site EP, in which she speaks about Justin Timberlake, Lagerfeld, Viktor & Rolf, children and music.


SITE EP - What do you think about Justin Timberlake? You met him at Victoria's Secret's show? Did you see his face when looking at the girls?
RAQUEL - Justin came backstage before the show to meet the girls and had a very professional atitude. The CBS executives asked him to look at the girls flirtaciously. I saw it and thought it was funny.

SITE EP - Which Louis Vuitton bag is your favorite? Do you have one?
RAQUEL - I have many LV bags, but my favorite is Stephen Sprouse's graffit one.

SITE EP - How was it to photograph with Lagerfeld for Fendi? Is he as good a photographer as a designer?
RAQUEL - Photographing with him was an unique experience, I was a guest in his St Tropez villa and had 5 start treatment!! It's very easy to work with him because he knows exactly what he wants. He's like that in everything he does.

SITE EP - What about Viktor & Rolf? Are they cute or weird?
RAQUEL - The campaign we did together for H&M had a lot of different aspects: TV commercials, magazine photos, outdoors and fashion show. For having spent so much time with them I realized that behind the whole quirky image they are very sweet.

SITE EP - What do you think about the exotic models, catwalk trend?
RAQUEL - I think the diversity that exists today is a great example of the many kinds of beauties the world has.

SITE EP - How is it for a model to date a photographer? Do you work together?
RAQUEL - The fact that i'm a model and he's a photographer is secundary in our relationship. I've said this and it's great that we both understand travels, parties and long hours of work that come along with the business. Ocasionaly we shoot together, and regularly we exchange opinions about our individual projects.

SITE EP - Do you have a blog? Access any fashion sites?
RAQUEL - I haven't created a blog yet. I love fashion sites. I access style.com, cnn.com and freshdirect.com.

SITE EP - What model will rock 2007? How are the brazilians in the market?
RAQUEL - My bet is Suvi Koponen, who opened the Prada show. I think Brazil has great new faces like Daine Conterato.

SITE EP - What path will you follow when you stop modelling?
RAQUEL - Probably will keep on creative jobs' path.

SITE EP - Do you think that a model's success depends on motivators, like you had Ellen Von Unwerth adn Steven Meisel?
RAQUEL - Definitely. Meisel has the power to make a supermodel out of a new face, the way he made Linda Evangelista and so many others.

SITE EP - Do you still ride horses and skate?
RAQUEL - I don't skate anymore, ever since I fractured my wrist and couldn't play guitar for a month. I still horseride, my last one was in Seicheles island, one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

SITE EP - What kind of music do you play?
RAQUEL - Lately it has been Pink Floyd, Nirvana and Metallica.

SITE EP - What's in your iPod?
RAQUEL - The biggest mixture I've ever seen!!!

SITE EP - Isabelli, Michelle e Caroline had kids recently, do you think about getting pregnant?
RAQUEL - In the future when I have more time, but only when I can give all the attention they might need.

I had no idea she was married either! Anyone have a picture of her husband? I'd like to see the fellow who has Raquel's heart. I love that were all just finding out that she's married. She knows how to keep an air of mystery around herself. It only serves to make her more compelling. She comes across as thoughtful and intelligent in that interview. Thank you for posting it!
