Raquel Zimmermann

Only-girl means that she was the only model in the editorial which is better than multigirl because the focus is on her and it's kind of more exclusive to magazines and photographers to work with them as the sole face.

I just started to go through the whole thread of Raquel:blush:, and Im on page 50 now and all the pictures I saw so far are beautiful, my liking is definitely getting stronger for her, great girl and great model.

Thanks for updates, everyone, always appreciated.:flower:

I agree, before, she never really appealed to me- i thought she was a little dull.
However, I have grown to like her and am slowly becoming obsessed.
It doesn't hurt that she's Brazilian either ^_^

Sorry for the quality, my scanner hasn' been very nice to me lately:angry:

Welcome to Raquel's thread PretoNovo. And thanks for the Chanel scan ckgirlbr, I love that campaign!

We haven't seen this ad in 2 pages :(

here's my bad translation of what's written there:
Karl Lagerfeld's darling, Fendi's creative director, the top number 1 of the world, Raquel Zimmermann, is the face of the new advertising campaign of the fragance Fendi Palazzo, it's going to start running in Brazil in december. The brazilian looks stunning on the picture and, like that's not enough, very seductive on the product's commercial. It was directed by Karl Lagerfeld himself and she shared it with model Brad Kroenig.

I've seen three pictures of the new Fendi Palazzo ads in total, I think the one above runs in French Vogue Dec/Jan.

Three? We only have these 2, the first one is the same image as the one above but turned around and only one page, we have these two scanned by Vamp and by you, but not the 2-page ad above.

Have a pile of holiday invitations and not a thing to wear? Three of our favorite women go shopping for an out-of-this-world look at a very down-to-earth price.

Raquel Zimmermann, model
“That could be great for Hawaii,” says model Raquel Zimmermann, pointing to a mannequin wearing a long, flowing black dress with a ruffled neckline. We’re in H&M (hm.com) on lower Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, and this could be just the frock she needs for a low-key New Year’s Eve spent on the island of Kauai. But when Raquel finds it on a rack, it’s actually the floor-length, forest green, deep-V frock ($99.90) hanging next to it that does the trick. “I’ll wear it with flat sandals,” she decides, “and it will be my ‘YSL’ look!”
I picked Raquel up at her Brooklyn apartment building that morning, and as we drove over the Williamsburg Bridge, she detailed her current outfit: black Strenesse blazer bought in Milan during the shows five years ago; a 45rpm white button-up; black Goldsign straight-leg jeans; slouchy (what else?) black boots with buckles from Fiorentini + Baker, picked up at Barneys Co-op; and a small, four-year-old, perfectly worn leather Prada bag. “I don’t follow trends at all,” she explains. “But I can find something in most of the collections to fit my style.” She’s no stranger to inexpensive shopping. When she was seventeen and just starting her career, Raquel would comb the aisles of Urban Outfitters (urbanoutfitters.com) for feminine dresses. And these days she’ll pair an Ann Demeulemeester jacket with trousers from the rocker shop Trash and Vaudeville (212/982-3590) on St. Marks Place in the East Village.
In her native Brazil, where tradition calls for everyone to wear white on New Year’s, she and her family would walk to the shore to celebrate. As an adult, her annual trips to Hawaii call for bikinis and the occasional summery day dress as cover-up. But after traveling to the same area for four years, she and her boyfriend (a photographer) have gotten to know the Hawaiian locals a little more, and a casual gathering with new friends might call for something less casual than a swimsuit. The H&M dress solves that problem, but there probably will be some pre-getaway holiday fêtes in New York. For those, Raquel scours the store for a deep-pink tiered cocktail dress ($59.90) and a black wool bracelet-sleeved coat (about $80) to wear with black tights. And in the accessories area, there’s a black rhinestone teardrop necklace that adds a little sparkle.
What’s left to buy? A good clutch, flat sandals, and a pair of heels. To hunt for those we go down the street—this area is dotted with less expensive stores: Express, J.Crew, Anthropologie, Esprit—to Zara (zara.com), where she picks out some super-high platform sandals to go with a pink dress ($129) for New York parties. She has yet to find a flat pair for Hawaii. So we go across the street to Gap (gap.com), and Raquel decides a pair of ballet flats will work just as well as a sandal. On the way out, she also grabs a silver clutch and a black beaded ribbon necklace for December Manhattan evenings “when everything in the city is red and green and lit up with beautiful lights.”

this is how it happened to me! I'm not very big on the German look, but Raquel really grew on me over time with her combination of versatility and great personality. and now I've been following this thread more than a year.

I was wondering the same while scanning but then I saw the third picture on the next page with the Palazzo bottle. :flower:

Juergen Teller, Holland
Art

David Dalley

'Teller', an exhibition of new work by German photographer Juergen Teller, is currently on show at De Hallen Haarlem in the Netherlands, a partial follow-up to 'Märchenstüberl’, his introspective 2003 exhibition at the same gallery which explored his family's past. The raw, vaguely disturbing collection is an obscure mix of personal references and other recent work.

See more photos from Juergen Teller's exhibition

An ethereal Björk with a faceful of dark, unchewed spaghetti sits prostrate at a bare dinner table; dog carcasses lie decaying in India; naked women pose awkwardly among brightly lit furniture; Brazilian model Raquel Zimmerman floats around the kitsch, grounded interior of Teller's parental home in Germany; and legendary photographer William Eggleston plays a grand piano in an empty Memphis parking lot at night (pictured above).
These aren't stories we know but they're stories all the same, captured with Teller's intimate aesthetic that has, in turn, become the trademark conceit of the celebrity-riddled, tongue-in-cheek ad campaigns he's shot for Marc Jacobs (remember Victoria Beckham obscured by a giant shopping bag and a naked Charlotte Rampling), YSL and Vivienne Westwood. He doesn't compromise for his commercial work – his ads seem more like personal projects with a fashion brand slapped across the frame incidentally – which in Teller's case is perhaps the very reason for his success.

If that's what she shot with him in Germany, we may never see it :(

In Vogue China Naomi Campbell lists Raquel as well as Christy Turlington and Jourdan Dunn as one of her favourite models :)
