Okay, so here's the story behind that joke.

There is a Brazilian real estate guy, and he did a commercial in Brazil where he says something about how buying these aparments would be great for his family, except for Luiza, who's in Canada. Well now it's a national catch phrase, lol. That's why when they said, except for Raquel, she's in Canada, they didn't really mean it, lol.
