Retin-A

hi lara.... i actually have some retin a on my face right now

first i clean my skin, then tone... wait a minute or two, then put on retin a... don't put a ton on... you want in to seep into your skin.

the thing w/ moisturizer that is adds oil/water to your skin and retin a drys your skin so i dont really see the sense in putting on moisturizer wehn you're putting on retin a...i have moisturizer but i dont use because i use retin a and i think my skin looks better when i do this

thanx heaps cutxpaste! no one really explained to me what to do with it, but u have helped heaps!

Bumping this thread....

Anyone on retin a...do you wash it off in the morning or just leave it alone?

Mostly depends on what is in it, ingredient wise, mine has a few waxes and mineral oil in it, they don't get absorbed in skin, so I wash it off with a mild cleanser. Besides, during the night skin sweats and excretes sebum, just like during the day, and I don't want that on my skin, so I cleanse it off. Also helps to get rid of the dry skin a bit.

^Yep, agree with ROL. Since Retin-A helps with the turnover of the skin it just makes sense to wash it off in the morning and get rid of the old cells sloughed off during the night. Even if you only use a microfibre cloth to exfoliate, its better than leaving a layer of crud on to start the day:yuk:. Helps makeup, sunscreen, daytime treatments, etc. to go on smoother and penetrate too.
