This scream "I'll show you how to do avant-garde" and that's why I'm out. All I see are clothes for editorials and red-carpet stunts, and besides Michele Lamy, I don't see anyone willing to wear those swollen looks.
This collection looks like a Diet CDG collection.
This will be praised as something innovative by his cult, but I see a lot of stunts but not enough genuine substance contributed to the brand.
absolutely, he is legendary. this feels like a remix and it's a bit disappointing but it's still...cool? at least to me? i do wish he didn't bow out creatively at least, i wish he would give us something new but given his legacy he is completely entitled to do that and still remain "iconic" forever.Yes but to be fair, Rick Owens has consistently and steadily built up a very strong DNA and repertoire of iconic items over many years of fantastic collections.
He's done all that work and he doesn't need to prove it anymore with these shows.
You're not wrong but it's not like he's standing without a solid foundation.
To be honest... I am always pushing and pulling between eye rolling and liking them. I almost impulsively ordered a pair from the men's collection but they are WAYYYYY way way wayy too expensive. Like oddly overpriced. Plus the question where would you where them? I still don't really have an answer. Unless you're one of his simps and wear them to the convenience storeI want those boots lmao sincerely (maybe this is an embarrassing confession). powerful looking but i don't know where I would wear them.
