I finally found one of my favorite Nostalgia featuring Patti Smith There seems to be this misconception about Patti as this strictly DIY, anti-fashion punk renegade which while partially true is not the full story.
The other half of the story is what makes me love her even more:
From a very young age she discovered the world of high fashion in the pages of 1950's VOGUE from which her iconic, deceptively throw-away style and many aesthetic guises were mined and honed and of course endlessly copied. She wears her impressive knowledge and passion for high fashion in a very distinctive, very personal, Patti Smith way which defies the stereotypes of what life-long reader of VOGUE looks like. As a fellow magazine addict, I hope you get as much joy from this Nostalgia as I did.
