Robert Downey Jr.

Robert Downey Jr and a unknown man who had a tattoo on his leg of Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr just played the leading role in the latest Iron Man movie) leave Guy Ritchie house.

He's looking a little too "Tim Burton" in these new ones but he still is cool.

Him and The Hurt Locker boys are my main men at the moment.
I still havent seen Iron Man2 yet. I know (slaps forehead). I thought Sherlock Holmes was kind of boring but him and Jude Law were excellent in it!

good thing is that he has a thread.
bad thing is that no one posts!!!

Now that we officially have a real title for the SHERLOCK HOLMES sequel (which is now called SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS) it’s safe to assume that photos will be rolling in to help promote and keep the anticipation up for the film. Even though the film won’t be released until mid-December, the studios must keep their film in the back of your mind so you won’t forget. Below you can see a teaser photo from an issue of Empire magazine. It shows Watson (Jude Law) getting ready to be hitched to a lovely lady played by Kelly Reilly, with Holmes off to the side looking a little worse for the wear. Robert Downey, Jr. also gives a statement about the sequel, he says:
It’s not going to be broader. That’s the usual thing they [studios] do. They say, ‘Hey, we were funny in that last movie.’ And then they go out and make some f@#king ‘LETHAL WEAPON 9′ garbage. It’s got a mixture of things that a lot of films can’t get away with… it’s a big-budget period film, which are never made these days… there’s real serious menace to it… and we’re taking it further—these two guys can’t live with each other and can’t live without each other.
I have even higher hopes than before and am keeping my fingers crossed that this sequal won’t be as watered down as some we’ve seen in the past. SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS will be directed by Guy Ritchie.

I am really disappoionted that he is wasting his talents on these mainstream popcorn movies.
On a side note I think he is so HOT!! It's shocking that despite all of those years of amssive drug use and the lifestle that came along with it, he has ages so beautifully!

i like that he can do all kind of movie genres and be great at them.
and he is hot still, after hitting the bottom he looks better than ever. yummy!!!

For nearly three decades Robert Downey Jr. has lived much of his life in the public eye, (good and bad) keeping audiences wondering what role he’ll take next. We loved him in his early 1980s roles and we’re even more psyched about the upcoming release of the hilarious road trip flick Due Date out on DVD Feb. 22nd. Check out the 10 reasons why Rob’s the real deal in Hollywood.
    80s.jpg

80’s Glory Daze: From Less Than Zero to the John Hughes classic Weird Science Robert Downey Jr. certainly made some serious cinematic waves in the 1980s. Sure, he may have let all that fame and glory go to his head (or up his nose) but the 1980s gave us a glimpse of a star in the making.

    comeback.jpg

Call It A Comeback: An addiction that started in the 1980s, took full hold of Downey in the 1990s and resulted in a series of arrests and jail stints between 1996 and 2001. While pretty much everyone had written him off as a lost cause hell bent on destroying himself, Downey took it upon himself to clean up his act and worked on getting his life and career back on track. You gotta love a good comeback story.

    Robert-Downey-Jr-as-Charlie.jpg

Role Risk Taker: You can’t say that Robert Downey Jr. has been pigeonholed by Hollywood and only stars in a certain kind of movie. From the early stages of his career he’s played a variety of roles, from learning to play tennis left handed for Chaplin to going blackface in Tropic Thunder or getting animated with A Scanner Darkly. The man keeps his audience on their toes by picking roles that don’t necessarily fit into the norm.

    robertdjr.jpg

Kirk Lazarus: As mentioned earlier, Robert isn’t afraid to step out of his comfort zone and this couldn’t be more evident than with his choice of Kirk Lazarus in Tropic Thunder. Not only does Kirk refuse to ever break character, much to the annoyance of his faux co-stars but he gives us some of the best lines of the movie. “Everybody knows you never go full ******.”

    singsing.jpg

Renaissance Man: Not only is the guy probably one of the best actors working today, he’s got a few other talents up his sleeve as well. He learned to play the violin for his 1992 role in Chaplin and has been known to belt out a tune, lending his vocal talents to several soundtracks and releasing an album in 2004.

    style.jpg

Style: While a good portion of Robert’s personal life and career might have been a mess, the dude’s wardrobe certainly hasn’t taken a backseat. Whether working the movie premier red carpet or just keeping things casual, he’s definitely made his mark as a style icon in Hollywood.

    tony-stark.jpg

Saving the world: Everybody loves a good hero and the second part of Downey’s career has seen him fill out that role to great effect. Director Jon Favreau insisted on Downey playing billionaire Tony Stark in Iron Man and based on the film’s success he was the perfect choice. We also got a kick out of his badass portrayal of 19th century crime fighter Sherlock Holmes in the film of the same name.

    snl.jpg

SNL: At the tender age of 20, Robert Downey Jr. joined fellow brat packer Anthony Michael Hall as a member of the 1985 Saturday Night Live cast. While his stint on the show may have been short lived (just one season) and not particularly memorable, we gotta give props for being a part of those hallowed halls of late night comedy

    husband-wife-team1.jpg

Husband and Wife Team: Robert was distracted while working on Gothica but not by his sexy co-star Halle Berry. His sights were on the producer who later admitted that at the time she thought he was “weird”. The saying that behind every successful man is a good woman couldn’t be truer in his case, as he credits his wife Susan with putting the final nail in the coffin on his addictions. Today the pair run a film production house called “Team Downey.”

Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law in another new photo from Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s been four whole days since our last photo from SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS. Not that I’m complaining, just observing. In this photo we see Sherlock Holmes (played by RobertDowney,Jr.) and Watson (Jude Law) hanging out somewhere that looks suspiciously like a tavern or bar. Surely those two aren’t consuming spirits while they are on the case…hmmm. This sequel which is directed by Guy Ritchie, has our favorite sleuth trotting across Europe to track down his arch nemesis Moriarty. The film also stars Noomi Rapace, Stephen Fry and Jared Harris. It opens in theaters on December 6, 2011.
I make fun, but I’m not so secretly looking forward to this sequel which means I’m fine with all the cheap photos Warner Bros. is sending our way. Wait, did I just write that- I kid, I kid. Keep them coming because I’m not the only fan out there.
