1001 NIGHTS, BY MICHEL HADDI

Morocco has long been a favourite destination of German catalog companies and countless others seeking to add a boho/oriental feel to their work. When designer Anna Scholz hired a well-known photographer to shoot her S/S 2012 lookbooks in Marrakesh, he took the opportunity to create images for his one of yearly ‘bookazines’, launched during Paris Fashion Week through 350+ venues worldwide, including iTunes*.

’1001 Nights’ is 124 pages of photo essays and neon-hued photo illustrations loosely based on the tale of Scheherazade. Unfortunately without a printed version to hand it is not possible to show all of the photos, so the following are presented as a preview of the issue.

It may be of interest that the models were wearing brands such as Bordelle, Monsoon, Mugler, Nine Ricci, Erickson Beamon, Givenchy, D&G, Pebble London, Liza Bruce, Sonia by Sonia Rykiel, Evans, Christian Dior, and Lara Bohinc. Yes, I did say Evans LOL

Just wondering, has anyone seen an official press release from Ralph Lauren about their booking Robyn? I'm interested to know what they have said directly about it.

At the moment, it seems like all there to find about it is just 2 photos, endlessly doing the rounds of the internet with a lot of hype and repeat blogging, and nothing from RL to back it up.

I have to agree, not that i dont want rob to get RL, but they.are known.for wanting.a model of a certian lok, and rob is out of that norm. But heres to hoping, sorry for onslaught of periods using my.cell

Well I figured that after all the brouhaha over their photoshopping down models, that it may have just been a token thing with Robyn so I am keen to hear otherwise. Besides, RL has been selling a plus size women's line for over 15 years and have been booking models to show it online for ages (models include Marquita Pring, Inga Eiriksdottir, Anja Geyer, etc etc).

I really hope that what they shot Robyn for is for brand advertising in magazines, etc and not just some online thing.

This article from the Daily Beast suggests that Robyn will not appear in magazine adertising for RL. However, RL did decide to use her in promotions several times, not just once.

She stands at 6'2" and wears a size 12, and was hired by Ralph Lauren in April. (The brand has since hired her for another shoot in July, and she tells The Daily Beast that she’s scheduled for a third shoot for Ralph Lauren in Los Angeles next week.)

You won’t, however, see Lawley’s face on the side of a bus anytime soon: according to her agent, the Ralph Lauren images will only be used for in-store advertising and PR purposes.
