I just saw all that was up on GettyImages.com and I'm in tears. I will go to sleep happy tonight, knowing that when I wake up tomorrow, I will get to see the complete collections of Roland Mouret and Narciso Rodriguez. These two define NY fashion week for me.
This collection is very Gwyneth Paltrow circa Sky Captain (take that, Stella McCartney!). Very retro in Mouret's own way. While fashion journalists (who honestly take them seriously!?!?!?) may criticize him for not being on the forefront of the ladylike/tweed/plaid/pencil-skirt-with-black-pumps movement, I think those pieces are beautifully done and the structured, assymetrical jackets keep things current. Fantastic. Love it to death. The side-parted hair and crimson lips are perfection. Why isn't Anna Wintour all over him yet? He is from London (albeit French-born) too. How can anyone like Proenza Schouler/Behnaz Sarapfour more than Roland Mouret?
