Rolling Stone March 2022 : Jennifer Lopez by Chrisean Rose

Queue the “omg so looks so good!!!! Still slaying at 52!!” reactions from the media/internet.

And she does look good, but this is so boring as if her entire career at this point and we’ve seen it all before from her.

I hate the cover. Her face is frozen, in that drop mouth expression, and I don't like her hair.
Body looks great tho.

I don't love the hairstlye either but she looks sexy and amazing and I'll take it. The portraits are beautiful and that shot of her in white, the stare... damn.

Definitely not her best cover. So tired of seeing her everywhere. Need a few years of no JLo!!

I like this ed but to much exposure from her I already had enough and the movie she is promoting with Maluma does not even look a bit interesting

I wouldn't call her overexposed but it's true we've seen a lot of her...at least she tries to be portrayed differently...like the Allure cover....

She just throws out sh*t left and right hoping something will stick. Her whole career is now looking good for ____

I have always been a big fan of her drive, work ethic, and ambition but I have to agree with this. She always lets the commercial come before the art and it mostly backfires. Take her tv show for example (anyone remember that?) There's so many great things going on in television these days and she could have used her star power to really do something great or edgy, instead what does she do? A procedural cop drama on broadcast tv, the most basic thing she could have picked. She finally lucks out and gets a great role in a good movie and instead of building off that, she goes right back to romcoms looking for a hit movie. Her music is basically the same story. Always looking for a hit, instead of really trying to push herself and create art. I just don't think she has the talent, honestly. She exemplifies the saying, "hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard". She's a modern Raquel Welch. She will always be remembered as a great beauty with genuine star quality but let's face it, none of her work will stand the test of time. J.Lo is the only role she was born to play.

At least they didn't photoshop her cleavage. I mean it's completely normal for women to have asymmetrical breasts and here we have an example.

Maybe she doesn't need her work to stand test of time...she just need herself, she is her ultimate masterpiece....im just saying...and i understand you point of view and i agree on some points.

i saw kids in their 20's singing and dancing her songs (straight kids) so im not sure if people don't care about her work, Maid in Manhattan is one of the most watched rom coms....i think she exemplifies the commercial success...she doesn't want to do art as the pretentious way of doin it...and we cannot judge her because of that, were just need to know the type of artist she is and enjoy her commercial art.

But she is one of the most hardest woman in the business and she covers a lot of areas. I think she will be an icon....

Im thinking more of Raquel Welch she will be more like an Elizabeth Taylor (no comparison( just to make my point in what kind of character and celebrity she is.

Always respected her for the hard work, but never liked her or her stuff. She is tacky and tasteless, no matter how lucky you may be to wear the right dress in the right time to create a memorable, catalyst situation, as a persons she’s always been visually kind of… a less dumb version of a Kardashian, a more refined Nicole Scherzinger to me. There’s something about the whole “powerful”, and “sexy” look that she doesn’t pull off. Beyoncé does, but she does not. And I can’t name a single iconic song of hers that wouldn’t sound ridiculous today. Jenny from the Block memes are funny, though.

I do have to say that she has always been a great fit for Versace, a house just as hardworking, but tacky.

Thank you. All the comments in this thread are ridiculous to me, honestly. Should every musician aspire to be a David Bowie or a Madonna? Does every artist simply need to have some groundbreaking effect on society or some deep meaning behind their career? Please.

Jennifer Lopez is an icon. There, I said it. Maid in Manhattan and Monster-in-Law are classics. Her music is essential to the 2000s and she's got countless hits that are still relevant and awesome today. She gets more beautiful every time we see her. As we established, she's incredibly hard working. So I guess it all comes down to personal taste, but it is ridiculous to diss her career because she isn't artistic. Who is nowadays?

Anyway, just wanted to show some love for J.Lo since all this negativity baffled me.
Gonna leave this old gem here as a reminder that her old music (still) slaps
