It seems that (white) fashion has no other reference(s) for our black girls. Nadine Willis, Sessilee Lopez, Nakeisha and now Rose Cordero have all been called the "New Grace Jones" and it's all because they have similar hairstyles. And to be honest it no longer excites anyone. C'mon people Rose Cordero is the new Rose Cordero....how bout that uh?

^Rather well said of you. She really exists in her own catagory at the moment as there is no one comperable to her. Let each model be themselves and let is go from there. It's fine to have a reference point, but to use the same trite one over and over is just unsavory!

Yeah if their not comparing a model of color to a previous working model they make that model look like the previous working model in editorial shots. Rose looks and acts nothing like Grace! Her poses and hairstyle is not that of Grace either. As far as I know Rose has never starred in any films or recorded and music albums. So to the people who compare models of color who happen to wear their hair nature to Grace Jones...just stop! I think because there are so few models of color in the industry people who work in the industry can only think of one or two names to compare new faces too. That's just my take on it, still doesn't make it right. The only model who some-what reminded me of Grace (photos, skin tone, bone structure) would have to be Nadine Willis. Shame her modelling career went as far as it did!
