Rose Cordero

everyone is saying she's 19, but since when? everyone was wishing her a happy 17th birthday in this thread november 2010 which means she should be on her way to her 18th birthday, not her 20th. IIRC, her original Givenchy exclusive fell through because she was only 15 and couldn't walk in Paris on a Sunday.

Either someone is playing with her age now or they were when she started and why would they lie when she started and keep her from getting work by making her too young...

I wish my question would not offend anybody, I'm just wondering why a lot of black girls like to be teenage mothers? it's hard to understand such a young girl like Rose or Jourdan happily sacrifice their time to raise babies , they look like someone who would enjoy their precious youth instead, not to mention it may cost their model career

not to be defensive but why do you suggest that it is a lot of black girls? there are other models like Arizona Muse, Isabeli Fontana, and even Natalia Vodianova have all had children while they were younger and still were able to manage having careers and their children.

now I will say that I don't personally agree with her doing this so early in her career because the other models I had mentioned had already had some amounts of real success before having children (except in Arizona's case) and were all able to have really amazing careers after having children.

but that doesn't mean that you can just lump sum it into being some "black girl issue"

Ollie you seem to be speaking in the wider world and just not modelling, so maybe this should be in a different thread...

I feel there is a difference in approach to protection eg. birth control pills in different communities. In some the girls are on it at 14yrs old in others there is a stigma against that so they use risky measures like pulling out or condoms (if they guy has them). Another factor to consider is the availability by law, funds and the 'willingness' to get an abortion. I don't think there is a big difference in the conception numbers for teens of various races but if you look at the data you will see certain races have abortions more frequently than others hence why it seems to be a black girl problem b/c they're keeping their babies while others are aborting theirs and not registering as a statistic.

as a black american woman, i'm not offended.. tbh i some what agree with a LOT of the stuff you mentioned but i don't think it's a "black model" thing per se. i know it isn't PC but i honestly don't see why almost everyone is congratulating her like what she did wasn't irresponsible. imo she should've waited until she was more....mature.

when jourdan was starting, i was rooting like crazy for her & then she was MIA which perplexed me until i got on this site & found out she'd gotten herself pregnant, which was very very disappointing. everyone is like "Jourdan's back" but is she really:ermm: i can't help but think where she would've been if she hadn't gotten pregnant & had been more focused

Rose is way waaaaay to young..she had her whole life ahead of her & it seems like being a black model in this day & age you have to work 2,3 times as hard as anyone else just to get half the recognition as even a mediocre model & pulling stunts like this is not winning any respect.

I don't mean to be rude, but has anyone for one second, thought that she might actually have planned this baby? Yes she's young, but that's no big deal and yes it will interrupt her career, but hopefully she will be able to return afterwards.......if she even wants to.

i'm sorry but what kind of 16/17 whatever yrs old willingly PLANS a baby:shock:?? this girl literally is starting her life & with her WHOLE life to look forward to you're saying you think she PLANNED to be tied down & take on a WHOLE look of responsiblity?? i just don't understand that...

You can see her photo on the casting board along with the VS Angels. Not the encircled one. I hope this means she'll be walking :buzz:
