Antique Pearl Tiara

A Kokoshnik style tiara was made around 1900 for Queen Wilhelmina. Queen Beatrix has been wearing it since she was 21. in 2001 maxima wore it without the drops

this may be a new official photo

The Baden fringe belonged to Princess Viktoria of Baden, later Queen Victoria of Sweden.

as it seems its only the crown princess who wears it, before both queen silvia and princess lilian has worn it.

queen victoria wore it as a tiara, necklace and coursage

I love how Maxima uses the crown jewels too. She's always wearing something spectacular, it's nice to see all those lovely pieces.

large version of the pearl tiara pearl
drop earrings,
pearl choker with diamond & sapphire clasp,
Queen Maud's pearl & diamond devt-de-corsage:

about the tiara
the pearl and diamond tiara was a wedding gift to Queen Maud as a wedding present from her parents, King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra of Great Britain.

there is a high and low version.

This tiara is a copy as it were Stolen from the British jeweler Garrard's in 1993. who made a new tiara.

Princess Märtha Louise wore it in a low version at her wedding with Ari Behn.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore this tiara in a small version for the first time for Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniels wedding.

It appears that Princess Grace's Van Cleef and Arpels tiara is making an appearance in the movie "Mirror Mirror" starring Julia Robers. Lily Collins plays the role of Snow White. The tiara was worn by Princess Grace at the wedding of Princess Caroline to Philippe Junot. The tiara is now in a private collection.

I love that one, it may be simple in design, but it is more striking against the hair and the fact that Princess Grace is wearing it. Love this thread!

Picture and quote credits from: internetstones.com/la-peregrina-pearl-

You're showing two different pearls here, La Peregrina is a teardrop pearl roughly 55.95 carats and was primarily owned my the Spanish royal family (with some stints in England and France), while La Pelegrina is smaller at 33.29 carats and while it was originally part of the Spanish Royal Jewels, it spent the majority of it's history in the ownership of the French and Russian nobility.

It's a bit confusing because La Pelegrina was named to intentionally sound similar to La Peregrina.
