Keeping Up Appearances
"This look re-creates the glamour of the Fifth Avenue woman," says Kevin Ryan of the polished buns he created. For chignons that looked full, not flat, the stylist prepped the models' hair with volumizing spray. Then, wielding a blow-dryer and a round brush, he dried it smooth. A couple of passes with a flat iron helped lock in an extra-straight look. Once the hair was dry, Ryan combed it back into a ponytail at the nape of the neck and secured it in place with a small elastic band. Finally, the hair was twisted into a knot and pinned.

Bohemian Royalty
A final spritz of Aveda Brilliant Spray-On Shine tamed any errant flyaways. The finishing mist contains pro-vitamin B5 to mend split ends and rice bran to boost shine. The smooth and glossy canvas provided the perfect backdrop for Thakoon's coq-feather crowns and diamond comb tiaras, the latter worn backward, designer Thakoon Panichgul explained, to "give a pedestrian sensibility to something royal and decadent."

I got this from the hairstyler.com. Looks like a lot of work to me!

Veronica Lake
Veronica's style is soft and sweet. Plenty of layers have been cut throughout her hair to add body and shape and her length has been kept at shoulder level. A classic style like this is perfect for medium to thick hair types.

1: Apply Mousse
Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

2: Part To The Left
Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your left eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even left part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.
PaddleBrush.jpg
3: Use A Paddle Brush
A paddle brush is used for detangling the hair and can be used to smooth out straight hair when blow-drying or styling. It is a must have for every household.

4: Blow-dry Using A Paddle Brush
Working in sections starting from the back, place the paddle brush close to the roots and drag it through the strands slowly, taking care not to overheat your hair. Once dry, continue to a new section, completing the back, the sides and then the top section last of all.

5: Use A Medium Curling Iron
A medium curling iron is used to create medium sized curls.

6: Curl Your Mid-lengths And Ends With A Curling Iron
Take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your mid-lengths. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards.

7: Piece The Ends Using Gel-wax
Apply a small amount of gel-wax to your fingertips and then lightly piece and pinch the ends of your hair.

8: Apply Lacquer
Lacquer is great for strong hold. A small amount is all that is required to finish and should be applied from an arms length distance to the entire style.

TIP: Add these winding curls into the very ends of your hair and add a touch of gel-wax to finish the style off.

Same no detail shots but long curls and 18th centuryesque powdered hair at Ann Demeulemeester. Honestly makes me think of vampires.

I love that ice white shade of blonde.
