NOIR FAÇADE: What was it like working with Ruslana Korshunova?
ERIC GUILLEMAIN: I was so scared to shoot her. I was a total debutant at that time and she was so painfully beautiful.
The beauty and tragedy of human life was so visible in her eyes. But in the same time she seemed really happy. Speaking a lot and always with that wonderful smile.
During the shoot she just gave me everything she could and let herself go into my fairy telling. Laughing, praying, breathing, feeling, crying...
I will never forget this moment we shared.
I also remember, I was back in New York City sitting in my living room at the very place the shoot took place. It was like a few days after she passed away. I was so sad. Miserable. Looking at my shoes, disgusted and feeling useless. Then suddenly I saw a firefly coming in from my 33rd floor window... It was flying and shining all around, then floating in front of my eyes. So striking and strange. I let her stay for a while and then she found her way out to the skies. And I came back to reality.
