Rutger Derksen is a male model who you may know from editorials such as the Dazed and Confused one in which Robbie gave him his signature red-head. The Dutch model was encouraged to join an agency by his girlfriend and is now tipped to star at the next Paris collections. He's from Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Rutger Derksen has shown his versatility channeling different looks for whatever has been thrown at him. He has attracted quite the attention for his editorials in Popeye, Sense, Wonderland and the cover of Visual Tales #2. Rutger gained himself a spot on the runways of Miharayasuhiro, Generra and Lanvin in fall 2010.

Editorial | Shellac “New Styles”
The styling of Akira Maruyama and photography of Naoki Ishizaka work together in a dynamic fashion to provide us a fresh look at Japanese label Shellac’s fall 2009 collection. Whereas the official black and white lookbook featured Tyler Riggs portraying a timeless bad boy image, Joker’s editorial shows a grittier, more detail oriented view. A popular model in Japan, Rutger Derksen sheds his typical nerd-like persona to offer the clothes substance in a fashion that channels the characters of Fight Club.

Nerd Chic | Rutger Derksen by Junji Hata
Japanese magazine POPEYE seems to have a niche for getting models to channel their innermost nerd. Their latest issue features Rutger Derksen by his lonesome–doing his best impression. The painfully infectious shoot was captured by Junji Hata and styled by POPEYE’s resident stylist Tomoki Sukezane.
