Sacred Heart Pendant

the sacred heart is like a heart with a drop of blood and a crown of thorns and a cross.

I bought a beautiful silver one at Sacre-Coeur (Sacred Heart) in Paris. I wish I could post a photo but I don't have a digital camera. :( I think the gift shops of large Catholic churches might be a good place to start looking for one.

Check out this webpage - they have GORGEOUS pieces some of which are or are very similar to the "sacred heart" look.

Exhibitionist NYC Jewelry

Hope that's sort of what you're looking for! :)

I love this one but at $720 it is out of my budget :(

Loved Sacre-Coeur... Very pretty...

I also like that pendant that Stylegrrl posted... but 720 is a bit steep

and how ridiculous am i that i'm actually weighing that against shoes and the salon?

I'd prefer you to wear your heart on your sleeve.

It always makes me uncomfortable when religious items are used as jewelry. To me, it is sacrilegious and disrespectful.

They're beautiful but I'd never wear one, I'm not catholic, not even a christian so I don't wear krosses or what ever that is christian.

But these are really beautiful I would wear it if I were catholic :flower:

I can see where you're coming from, but for me it's a beautiful expression of my spirituality. I'm proud of the gorgeous symbolism and I think that the iconery associated with my Catholicism is something to be loved in any form. Having said that, I don't think I would enjoy seeing a sacred heart tattooed in someone's bathing suit area... but that's my line. Then again, if it's the right person's bathing suit area, I'm pretty negotiable.

If it expresses one's own beliefs, that's fine. If it's just following a trend, I think it's inappropriate.
