Saint Laurent F/W 13.14 : Cara Delevingne & Cole Smith by Hedi Slimane

while this campaign does not break any new ground, it still finds success because it elevates that oh-so-controversial collection into something with attitude, appeal, and mystery in a way that the runway did not.

Cara is such a teen, totally the wrong model. Plus the fact that in the first picture she's wearing my 13 year old dress circa 1990, TOTALLY puts me off. Move on people. I thought Saint Laurent was suppose to be an adult brand.

Thank god they let Cole wear glasses because he's such an awkward, mousy looking dude and it wouldn't go well with the vibe.

she is so wrong for this, someone like hanne gaby odiele would have been way better

...too california style B)

everything he is doing is a departure from what YSL is & more of an alignment for who he is. not even as a designer, either, but his personality. i think the line should reflect some of the designers personality; but not to the point where it distracts from the houses legacy. i hate it.

there is not yves saint laurent about this.

i am over cara but none the less this looks like a great topshop advertisment not for Saint Laurent.

This.

I've got to hand it to him though- he makes this trashy collection look appealing. Still loathe every inch of this.

This looks so cheap (I think it's more because of the clothes tbh than the model )

I like the melancholy vibe of it. And all the textures, from the model´s hair to the drapes...
However imo it looks way too "angsty teen" for a HF label like Saint Laurent.
me too. i must admit that this whole hedi's interpretation has been growing on me although it's a completely different universe. it's rough and arrogant yet very delicate and sensitive at the same time.

Why does he not rename the brand "Hedi Slimane Los Angeles" already... There's nothing parisian or french about it ...

I don't have anything against Cara, but not feeling here for this campaign at all.

When you think this couldn't ger anymore tacky, he gives Cara the campaign

I really don't get the hatred towards Cara... That's quite off-topic, though. Anyway, I think it looks great - the photographs are very beautiful - quite attractive to me. Despite loathing the collection, the result was nice.

The clothes are already hideous and now they give Cara another campaign?
Hedi never wanted to be so hated like he does now
