I don't know what to call this thread, so I used the Instagram caption. I hope there isn't one already there.

The whole Sorrenti family should get a 5-10 years long ban from the industry. Mario can come back a bit earlier when finds his lost talent, but the offsprings and others might as well stay out.
Hell make it 20 years instead. The entire family work is interchangeable, overrated, and forgettable at this point and Gray’s work is so basic but luckily for her she has a last name that makes her instantly talented apparently. A lot of these people would be no where without the teams that do all the heavy lifting for them ie their assistants.

Also I’m over the entire AV era of YSL it’s time to get something new in there because at this point it’s also interchangeable, overrated, and forgettable.

LOL Vaccarello acting all elevated and pretentious and then getting Hailey Bieber and Binx together for an ad campaign, ridicolous
Another Bing card campaign for YSL, as always, they just ask AI what celeb has not tapped by a fashion brand in the past 5 years and get them
For FW we gonna probably get Barbra Streisand and Ralph Fiennes, no more free celebs left

the should rebrand his YSL as the open legs couture house ...this constant slutifing of the image of YSL is tired as hell
If I don’t have to see one more campaign of hosiery and some form of an 80s leather. The entire vision since he arrived has been hollow and tacky. YSL is so much more than this and should be.

Saint Laurent under Vacarello is like a brand working through licenses… No essence, no fashion, no nothing. Pure irrelevance.

It’s so empty. Like if it didn’t exist. I don’t know if the rest have the same feeling. There’s no offering from their side.

I was gonna say that I can’t wait till he leaves, but who can do YSL? No one.

Actually, you're partly right, the shows tend to follow the same formula: 4-5 outfits proposed in different colors, which is very Carine Roitfeld, considering what she did for MaxMara and Tom Ford. That said, it cannot be said that it lacks glamour, as the woman it shows on the catwalk is very chic, but she is more of a stylist/fashion editor than a designer.

I was thinking this too, not that because he's too talented to be replaced but because it's in this extremely dark glamorous, VIP, evening, fashion merging into cinematic image spot that is also linked to his evening time perspective of women.
Most designers in 2025 are very daytime separates, or playful/quickly focused. Maybe the other only person I can imagine would be Pieter Mullier (not that I think he's the best designer) but not sure he would leave Alaia for the Kering mess. Realistically they would not consider Alexander Vaulthier or Haider either (regardless of RTW talent).

I gotta say, that nano Icare bag is probably the best design release they ever had since Vaccarello joined...too bad it's giving "let's jump on the Miu Miu Wander mini bag success bandwagon", hence it doesn't feel very authentic.
It's basically a Miu Miu Wander bag with the Miu Miu logo replaced by the Cassandre one.
Had it been released a few years prior to Miu Miu, it would have turned into a best seller for sure.
