Salvatore Ferragamo S/S 2022 by Hugo Comte

The second photo is good, the rest didn't convince me!

I like it for the sole reason it feels like Steven Meisel's early 2000s work (specifically Valentino Fall 2000), as much of Comte's work does, but the clothes and products fall so flat

Why are they trying so hard to sell those hideous shoes?

Agree with @DK92 , the second shot is the best while the others fall flat. There is a an obvious disconnect and stiffness in the group shots and the last shot looks poorly lit and composed, the model isn't helping either. Also, that cheap piece of fabric that's doubling as a scarf and headband looks like a fabric belt you get on a department store dress.

Comte's photography is very one-note and in contrast to the photographers he desperately tries to imitate, his work comes across extremely contrived and overly precious. I can picture him on set pretentiously directing hair and makeup and the models' hand gestures and poses while looking at Scanned Fashion World for all his ideas, all the while thinking he is some kind of visionary generation-defining image-maker.

I agree the second picture is quite compelling and the best from this campaign.

is Mario testino back from the dead?!?! this reminds me of his cheapness

Just like Meisel, only he would use albums and vintage Vogue issues.

(not sure if this is part of the S/S 2022 ad campaign or an individual handbag one as it often happens. mods feel free to create a new/ individual thread if needed. thank you)

The bag is a big fat no and I'm ambivalent about the bland airport-like setting of the campaign, but I too will never tire of Mariacarla.

Why are they trying to push a bag? This is Ferragamo, they should be selling killer shoes instead.
