How to wear scarves?

I have three, because they are so pretty. I have NEVER worn them in public.

I'm looking for a youthful, feminine, maybe a bit casual/chilled, look.

Tips? Pictures?

which do you mean...the long skinny scarf type, or the shorter neck-tie scarves that will usually fit round once and then tie with a couple of shorter bits spare...?

I love neck scarves and anything 'necky' actually

I sometimes make long neck ties and wear my hair up and tie them in a big bow at the back of my neck, I also make shorter neck-ties and just tie them to the side.

The longer skinny scarf type usually look good wrapped round twice and then tied at the front, I also have a really long piece of silk that was meant as a wrap-belt around trousers which I fold in half, wrap round twice and then pull one end through so it's shorter than the other in a sort of 'half bow' :flower:

I meant the longer scarves.

Does anyone have any pictures of people wearing them in flattering ways? I'm finding it hard to picture...

I really liked how Vanessa Redgrave wore her scarf in Antonioni's Blow Up, but I can't seem to find a pic...

On the Hermes website they have a file you can download (called "Playtime with your Hermes scarf" or something like that) that shows you lots of different ways to wear all sorts of different silk scarves. It's really cool and has given me some ideas on how to wear my scarves in ways I never had thought of. :flower:

You may wrap round once and hang loosely if it is long or also you can wrap it around your waist like a belt.

One of the ways I wear a scarf is to put it up to my nose, so it hides everything below my eyes THEN, tie it behind and pull it down so it is worn around my neck cowboy style :) It works best if colourful and worn with plainer clothes immediately around it so it stands out.

Not a scarf..more of a shawl.. fold it so you have a triangle.. hold it point hanging down at the front, fling the rest of it it over your shoulders, then pull the ends round and tuck them under the bit at the front..similar effect to above..

Of course a REAL shemagh is great for winter :)

I loved Chloe's scraves last season...they had a nice collection...
