We have to have either black lace ups or t-bars, so I wear either the generic black school uniform shoes, or vintage $2 t-bars with cut-out details from my local thrift shop. They hurt my feet lots, so I have to be selective about when I wear them.
I wore pretty much whatever I wanted at my last highschool, Puma Roma, Mostro, flip flops, a whole range. They didnt care what shoes we wore, the shoes allowed us to express ourselves...
haha, i have to wear the ugly plain black chunky lace ups... the most aargh things in the world and the school has got this tiny socks with a marron stripe going around the top, it makes ur ankle look sooo ugly!
can anyone beat that???
Hm... in the summer we have to wear bottle green tiny skirts with no pleats and black pinstripes. That's pretty damned bad. Doesn't your school have a t-bars option? Most schools I know of do, read the uniform code carefully...
Knew a girl in school who 'altered' her uniform quite nicely. Skirts were a typical blue plaid, and almost all of the girls wore theirs at knee length. Not Pat, she cut hers to about 15" !! And she was a TALL girl too !!!
^ wow, you'd be kicked out if you wore your skirt that short at my school. They're super-strict on the rule that you can't have the skirt more than 3 inches above the knee. We have really specific shoe guidelines, only black or DARK brown DRESS shoes, so I wear ballet flats. This year, these shoes from Charles by Charles David, but they're pretty uncomfrotable and I have awful blisters so I'm trying to find a better pair... I really can't walk in them--I'm much better with heels--but I guess they're a lot more comfortable in the long run, and you certainly can't wear heels with a catholic school uniform unless you want to look like you're posing for a fetish magazine.
Me too shopsmuch, HAS to be less than 10 cm above the knee while kneeling, they actually measure. I pray I haven't grown too much since summer...
We have to wear them with either long navy or short white socks, and a white button up short sleeved blouse. Icky ick ick.
Y'all who don't have to have school uniforms are lucky. Veeery lucky.
i just graduated...but during school i wore flip-flops almost every day...pumas sometimes. now that im out of high school, i still wear lots of flip flops, but sometimes loafers/mocassins or new balance sneakers because they're so comfy!
I wear tennis and flip flops. But I walk to school so the flips flops mess up my feet and I try not to wear them. I just recently bought a pair of flats...
I want to look cute but I dont want to sacrifice comfort too much.
