Scissor Sisters

oh woe is me...i lost my sanity and forgot that tickets went on sale for their one NY appearance at irving plaza on sept 10th...now they are sold out ...anyone have any ideas about where i can get a tkt?

alternately...they are playing the royal albert hall in london a bit later...which is also sold out...does anyone know of a way to get tickets to that show...

i'm fairly distraught and would really like to see one of these shows...

can anyone suggest anything????....please...???!?!?!!?!!?!?!?!?

Don't know if it applies there, but most of the tickets are usually bought up by the underground record stores and the like. They do sell them at the cost price too, it's just their idea of an extra service for the consumer who doesn't feel like struggling to buy them at an unsocial hour.

But sorry, I have no names or numbers...

hmm thanks...i will solicit the help of my friend in london...perhaps he has a source...

I love them! :woot:

I want to take the lead singer out all night, and show him what it's all about...

saw them in london...and have to say that the crowd was really lame...no one even seemed to know any of their songs except for the big radio hit...the cover of the pink floyd nonsense...

the royal albert hall was also the wrong venue...too big and assigned seating which is not conducive to dancing...which is what the scissor sisters are all about...dancing and going mental...

the after party was more fun...they had all these boys in little outfits dancing and these girls on rollerskates serving candy out of cocktail glasses...we danced the night away...

i have to say though...the ny show was definitely better...because they have a real cult following here and the crowd really rocks out...!!!

hope to get tickets for the next show here in dec...

they are from ny but had to go to london to get a record deal...and their song went to number one in england...while they are still sort of underground here in th US...

funny...right?!?!...same thing happened to blondie years ago...
i also think that happened to interpol...more recently...

I'm still kicking myself that I couldn't convince anyone to go to one of their very small concerts last Christmas, and so I didn't go.

Now I'm only going to get the big crowd experience, one I could do without, especially after hearing soft's comparison.

Actually... people here tend to act like lunatics regardless of the venue or music, so perhaps 'twill still be wonderful.

yeah...i've found the irish are very like the english....but without the stiffness...you might be ok... ^_^ :innocent:

I LOVE them to death! They're amazing. Unfortunately I had to miss their gig because of an exam
By the way, I own both the UK and US versions of their album, and they're quite different... or am I delirious?

thanks w-moon...welcome to tfs... :flower:
i like that they have fun...but they care about social issues...they are awesome...

twiggster...i actually think i bought both versions...but i gave one to my friend ...he said it was different...i will have to check it out now..thanks for the tip... :P :flower:

they did a cover of franz ferdidnand when i saw them in london... :woot:

You're welcome ;)

Is Franz Ferdinand's cover "take me out" ??
I wanted to listen!

i think that was it...it was muchslower that the franz ferdinand version...

She seems to be big into the fashion... or so she said at least...

yes...but she is rather big for the fashion as well...

i think she has her stage stuff made for her...all the dresses i've seen her in look it....
they're all very drapey and godess-y

she usually looks pretty great... :flower: :woot:

   her look! I read an interview she gave to glamour magazine a while ago and she seems really nice, down to earth and quite interesting :flower:

I love them - honestly, their songs just brighten your mood no matter how low you feel
