Scott Peterson sentenced to die.

I definitely agree on OJ! Unbelievable that he got off free.
Yea... OJ got off "free".. but he'll never be hired for anything ever in his life. For someone who lived off of his fame... that's pretty close to torture.. and shame.

Still he should be in jail..

I read some trivia on OJ from imdb.com

Was considered for the title role in The Terminator, but producers feared he was "too nice" to be taken seriously as a cold-blooded killer.

mistake after mistake.
apart from death penalty being a barbaric practice, the stupidity of these people to put someone to death based on circumstantial evidence is beyond my understanding. just absurd and primitive.
i agree...:order: :hardhead:

S. Peterson will probably live a fairly long life... CA takes about 17 years to complete an execution. We'll be telling our children about this when it finally happens.
is it really 17 years? i thought the average is around 5-10 in most states.....
that's a pretty long time!

California has the slowest moving death row in the nation - Texas has the fastest. Often, executions take even longer, due to appeals, etc etc.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. I personally would like to refrain from giving judgement on his guilt unless I've seen all the evidence (it's the former debater/aspiring lawyer in me) but from what I've heard, a lot of it is circumstantial. So the likelihood that he'll appeal is high...

I heard the same thing about California. No telling how long Scott Peterson will sit on death row.

Is this the case where a guy killed his pregnant girlfriend, and had another lover somewhere else? Sorry i am confused, as i used to watch crime night on sky, but havent for a long while?
He was sentenced to death for killing his 8 month pregnant wife and yes, he had a girlfriend who ended up helping the authorities.

Here is the story:

I really don't believe in death sentence... We're practically doing the same thing he did... I would have just let him rot in hell and live his life in jail and let his inmates have their way with him...

agreed

He could have become Bubba's new b*tch in prison. :)

Hmmmm....that would be perfect for Scott!

the more i read about this story, the more i cringe and feel like slapping that scott peterson across the face! i too agree w/ sloan, ivy, and alejandro! they SHOULD let him rott in prison and let the other inmates have their way with him and id make sure he'll NEVER EVER EVER see a soap on a rope for the rest of his life in prison ;)

sorry for asking a stupid question like this, but I don't live in States; what did he do??

I don't agree with the death penalty at all. I don't understand why life in prison isn't good enough. Killing somebody imo just brings you down to their level.

i dont know about a life sentence being a more damning prison sentence...its likely that a sociopath killer wont even think about their crimes...they may even be happy that they arent sentenced to death....also, im not sure if i think the death penalty is morally reprehensible either, although i used to....that said, here are two reasons why we shouldnt have the death penalty without considering the moral implications of it: 1) a death penalty trial and subsequent death row sentence is more expensive than keeping a person in prison for life because prosecutors work harder on a trial if the possibility exists that the person might be sentenced to death and 2) the death penalty doesnt deter crime...most murders are crimes of passion meaning that the murderer did not think rationally when he/she killed the victim...therefore he/she is not going to think rationally "oh, maybe i shouldnt kill this person because imight die myself"...in fact, texas, with the most efficient death row system also has one of the highest homicide rates...so the death penalty is too costly and its inefficient...ah well, ill stop rambling
