''Like any 21-year-old with a passion for fashion, Shenae Grimes was thrilled to get the chance to spend a summer interning at Teen Vogue. But it seems that being the star of hit teen drama 90210 has afforded her a few privileges.
While most aspiring writers and stylists make their start in the industry as a Devil Wears Prada-style dogsbody, the actress is already shadowing senior staff members.
She told New York Magazine: 'I’m shadowing everybody... [There's] no fetching coffee or photocopying, which is what I thought would happen.

'I attend a lot of pulls with [fashion market editor] Mary Kate Steinmiller. We pull clothes for shoots and stuff like that.

The actress revealed that she arranged the six-week unpaid stint at the magazine through her publicist.
'I was sick of LA, so I wanted to come to New York,' she said. 'I found [editor-in-chief] Amy Astley’s contact through my publicist, and I e-mailed her. I'm a little audacious.'
She admitted there had already been some crossover with her life back home in Hollywood.
She said: 'I’ve got the cover shoot for Lily Collins coming up, which is hysterical, because she’s a great friend of mine. She was on 90210 once.''
