Methinks that ' cultured ' Stoke Newington accent has been replaced by flat northern vowels . :o

Some ' elecrocution ' lessons would seem to be in order .

mmm...i've been thinking about this quite a bit...
and also the buy it, wear it, and return it phenomenon...

as prices climb...i suspect the the rate of these types of incients will rise as well...

especially in this society where keeping up with the joneses means $400 jeans or a $1000 purse...how else is the average person expected to compete??>..

thanks for the article kit...

You're very welcome Soft

Actually , this has a bearing on your ' Salespeople ' thread , in that God knows how these light fingered fashionistas manage to lift ANYTHING , certainly , as far as the London designer shops are concerned . The salespeople watch you like a hawk as if you are going to defile the merchandise by touching it , let alone steal it .
Perhaps I look suspicious or shifty or something .

In the grand melee of a large store like Harvey Nicks or Selfridges , I suppose someone with evil intent could get away with something ....

The nearest I have got to this was when Faust asked if I was the person who had smashed the window at Saks ( I think ) , to grab exclusive items by Claude Montana .....;)

You mean private school? You'll never take me alive...

Its a very interesting article...all the while these stores will *profile* a certain shopper (one large chain recently paid out a large settlement due to detaining shoppers by race) but such shoppers, as described in the article are the ones who make up a large contingent of shoplifters!! They will come in, say hello, look the part and the salesperson is none the wiser, and they will waltz on out of the store with the goods.........

The title of this thread had me motivated. I thought it was going to give some good and legal pointers on shopping on a budget. Oh well... :flower:
