Great Places To Shop

yes! yes! i need to hear about paris too! I'm going there in two weeks, but i've never been and don't want to waste my time searching for places to shop!! I'd REALLY appreciate anyone's tips

when in Paris buy the new BAG magazine. It's about shopping in Paris. Very useful with all the new shops + restaurants, cafés... + maps... A must-have

hardly anyone actually listed any real bargain shopping places...everyone already knows about harvey nic's and colette...don't they...

in NYC we have Century 21 which is a HUGE dept store filled with designer merchandise from past seasons at a generous discount...we also have shops like INA where stylists re-sell all the stuff they bought for shoots, etc...very often current season merch with the tags still on at a good discount...bags and shoes too...

is there anything like this in LONDON or PARIS?...

when i was first in paris in 1992..i found a shop called 'la mouton avec cinq pied'...which roughly means the sheep with 5 feet...i don't know what it means, but i got a bunch of gigli, helmut lang, and gaultier heavily discounted...it was on the left bank and i don't know if it still exists, but it was GREAT!!...

i'd love to know if there is anything like this in LONDON...since i will be there soon... :flower: thx!

yep i know "le mouton à cinq pattes". but its been a while i havent been in one.
i dont know anything of the likes in london though.
there is always shops here and there on the high streets that sells cheaper "designer" items. but they are not trustworthy at ALL. they are the ones who scream through the megaphone

i was in florence this summer and visited the outlet store of prada. it's called "space prada" (south of florence, called montevarcchi) and it's huge (and hard to find. you can find really really bargains. they also sell jill sander and helmut lang there.

another outlet near florence called "the mall". you find gucci, ysl, bottega veneta, armani, sergio rossi, tod's etc. there. very cheap. they do offer transport (car rental with driver) to the outlets, they pick you up and bring you to the outlets.

in florence for example pradas flagship store is about 10 - 15 % cheaper than in europe.

it's a paradies, but you shouldn't go there in august, cause the italians have their vacations and it's totally crowded.

it's really a(n) (shopping)adventure going there ;)

Im going to Paris at Easter for a mini break, but in the week so I'll miss the flea markets =(. Anyone got any ideas for cheap/vintagey places to shop? Thank you!

In London many designers have stores where they sell last seasons clothes, accessories etc for about one third of the original prices, for example Burberry at 29 Chatham Place, London E9 6LP and Paul Smith at 23 Avery Row. I don't know if there's anything like Century 21 though..
