Download, print out and make-up a garment pattern of this beautiful dress from Junya Watanabe's glorious Autumn/Winter '05-6 collection before it even hits the shops. Take up our challenge to style and photograph your version of the dress for our viewer's gallery and see how it compares to the Watanabe designs shot during the live styling event on 28, 29 & 30 June.

A member of TFS named ' As you like it ' downloaded the pattern , adjusted the pieces for measurement and tried to make the Lee McQueen kimono , but found it impossible , despite the fact that she is a professional dressmaker .

I believe Showstudio put up some adjustments to the pattern , or so I read somewhere .

It's a super piece , whether or not .

yes, there definately does seem to be some liberties taken in the construction. a big part of it is the styling of the photo as well.

You'd recognise that better than me . ;)

Anyways , thanks for the pics , I am a member on the site as I find it always to be very interesting if not controversial - witness the interview with Lee McQueen just over a year ago - hilarious AND ' Get on down and be dirty ' at the same time , especially in his answer to Kate Moss' question !!!!! :innocent:

^ oh yes, that was a good interview! i haven't really scanned over the site in awhile, i should.

and your welcome ;)

was thinking about trying the yohji jkt...

thanks for posting that travolta :flower:

These patterns would even be great to make up in a simple toile material, I wonder how difficult they'd be...no harm in trying I suppose. The galliano looks the most difficult...I'd have loved to see those people make them up start to finish.

the yohji one doesn't look that bad. i guess precision is the key, and as far as the more complex...the more mistakes should be allowed!

i would only be interested in making the yohji piece because it is the only one i am interested in wearing...

i can't wait to see the junya submissions and the final shoot. but, yes...that yohji...it would be worth trying!
