The more I let this sit the less enthusiastic I feel about it, to be honest. It's certainly far from a bad collection, but I find it being a bit too much 'undone' than his last collection, with all these trailing sashes below the waist. The looks that really work the best here are the ones that are less 'busy', like the all pale blue one with the twist front sweater.
Overall I think it's normal that a young label like this needs some time to really find it's footing, in which case certain trial/error situations cannot be avoided.
Another thing I notice is that Sies Marjan's prices are rather high compared to a Christian Wijnants, who does a similar aesthetic with quirky, artisanal touches at a more accessible price point. I'm not sure how justified that is, or if the customer that resonates to these clothes really is the one that is ready to pay these prices.
