Simone Rocha F/W 2022.23 London | the Fashion Spot

Simone Rocha F/W 2022.23 London

there is a nod to Rei but it’s still very Simone. I like it.

She uses silk taffeta in one of the most imaginative ways I have ever seen so I will always be a fan. But yes I would have to agree that she has certainly been in a rut.

She should go back to her days at Fashion East and look for some inspiration from her time spent with the collective. Though back then she displayed a much different aesthetic, her simplified yet technical touch proved she has more to offer.

Less costume and more fashion Simone, please, we know you have it in you.

If Miu Miu and Comme De Garçons had a love child it would be this collection.

The Cadbury purple looks can go and so can the excess of layers.

I really do want to like her work, but she appears to be stuck in this "LFW's answer to Kawakubo" mentality. If the layers were stripped back and the beauty of these pieces were allowed to speak, the looks would work so much more and appear less derivative. I get so disorientated with all the stuff and styling, it gets hard to enjoy the collections.
