It's not that big of a deal, really. There are alot of girls out there that are doing exceptionally well and they haven't worked with Meisel before. I still think she'll be fairly succesful. I personally don't get her appeal so I'm incredibly surprised at all the work she's getting so far.

I'm confused by this as well. It never crossed my mind that a photographer would get annoyed with a model for shooting with another photographer. Seems kind of petty.

Of course she has the potential to be very successful withtout shooting with Steven. But unfortunately, there are certain things she may not be able to shoot if he doesn't agree to shoot her that could bump her up to a more superstar level even faster. (i.e. prada.)

She says (among other things) that Pete Wentz had to stand on a box when shooting DKNY (hehe) and that she plans to do shows in NY, Milan and Paris for SS08!

Other than that there's really nothing new that came out. She says that she is home in Kristiansand on vacation and that after DNKY and her Klein ed for Vogue IT the ball really starting rolling and she works a lot.

People should recognize how much Siri worked the passed time and what she achieved so far, that's much much more than the average model achieves. so it's ridiculous criticizing her 'mismanagement', what is indeed NO 'mismanagement', and quite unfair too. both for siri and her management. so please be fair here.
I can't wait to see more of her, she's great.

They predict that she will have a killer fall season. I can't argue with that. =

I don't understand the whole mismanagement thing...

I'm not in the business or anything, but I can try so explain (atleast how I understand it). The mismanagement rumour is rooted in the fact (?) that she was booked for the Prada campaign (the most influential ad campaign) with Steven Meisel (the most influential photographer). When he learned that she had already shot Vogue Italia with Steven Klein he was possibly "dissapointed" because he wanted to "break her in" himself. He shoots every cover for that magazine and has a lot of influence on the contents. I guess he now thinks of Siri as Steven Klein's "left overs". When people talk about mismanagement I guess they feel that a bigger agency (for example IMG) would have known that was going to happen and offered Siri to Meisel first. I'f he had declined, then they could have offered her to Klein, Kadel, etc.

And what's so wrong about doing Prada and American Eagle?

I guess you can compare it to actors and their movies. Big actors usually only shoot big, high bugdet movies. They don't shoot movies with unknown directors/producers and low budgets. It gives them a certain exclusive vibe about them and builds a certain image for a person.

No one is saying that Siri's career is ruined. Freja, for example, was reportedly sent home by Meisel a few years ago and has never worked with him again, and she has done amazingly. The point is that although Siri has done very well with Klein and Kadel, she could have done extremely well with a Vogue IT cover by Meisel and the Prada SS08 campaign. But we'll never know how it could have been.

Let's everyone not get on the "she should switch" horse, it is ridiculous. Italian Vogue with Steven Klein is amazing, he shoots huge campaigns as well. I am sure IMG has let a girl shoot with him, even if she hasn't shot with Meisel yet, before as well. It would be a HUGE gamble to turn down Klein to wait for the small chance that Meisel likes the girl. Plus EVERY agency makes "mistakes", takes chances, even IMG. It is a fickle business.
