Skye Stracke

^ I'm hoping that there will be HQ's soon. :crush: Our girl Skye's career is skyrocketing.

That is gorgeous

Where are you based now?
I’m in New York. I moved here on January 9, 2008. I share an apartment in Brooklyn with another model. I’d never been to New York before but I love it here. I had never seen snow and never been in a cold environment. It gets down to minus 20 degrees. I love the lifestyle, the travelling and the work.

How was Fashion Week?
I thought Rosemount Australian Fashion Week (RAFW) was crazy. I remember thinking "Wow, this is real modelling." But here it’s even more intense.

What were your favourite shows?
The Chanel show. All the models were displayed on a carousel. Karl Lagerfeld got there half an hour before the show was about to start. All the photographers went crazy; he wasn’t stressed out at all. The big shows are more fun because it’s so crazy. At Versace, they get really creative with their runway.

Tell us about your career path.
After I won a Vivien’s modelling competition, I did RAFW and there was a DNA model scout from New York there. She signed me up and before I knew it, I was in New York. When I first arrived, I got flown to the Bahamas, which was really exciting.

How would you describe your personal style?
Right now, I’m wearing CK Calvin Klein riding roots, jeans and a Philip Lim blouse and jumper. I love my bag – it’s Miu Miu.

Do you go shopping much?
When I first got here, my agency wanted me to create a whole new style, so all my clothes are new! The style here is very different. It’s a lot more casual in Australia. The women in New York dress in a classic fashion; the style here is very black and white. Australians are more funky and colourful, New York is about street wear.

What about your beauty routine?
All my products are YSL. I can’t have late nights. There is always someone watching. I work very early in the morning. I can’t sleep with my make-up on or I break-out.

How do you handle the pressure of being a model?
Everyone is so beautiful and at first, you wonder how you’re going to survive. But you have to forget about it. If you don’t get a job it’s because you don’t have the particular look they’re going for. You need to keep positive.

thank you for the article :flower: didn't realize she's relocated stateside, but then again, that's not a surprise.

Is it Skye in the Yves Saint Laurent Matt Touch foundation ads?

I couldn't really recognise her totally, but with the comment in the interview above that she 'only wears YSL make-up', I'm guessing it could be?

I can scan it if you guys like.

I haven't looked at this thread in so long. The pictures in #607 are just wow, lovely!

Ohh those last pictures are pretty! She so suits that airy, '70's kinda hippie aesthetic.

Skye Stracke in Vogue Australia July =] she looks a bit like Michelle Trachtenberg/ Georgina Sparks in these pics
