Sofia Coppola is planning to compile a CD of her favourite music tracks.
Tolerance Records is hoping that the film director, whose Marie Antoinette soundtrack featured acts such as Aphex Twin and Bow Wow Wow, will repeat the success of Karl Lagerfeld's recent collaboration with French Vogue, in which he chose his most-loved songs.
Martin Cobb of Discovery Records, the UK distributor, says: "We are working on a series of three CD collections that will draw on people from different genres. Sofia Coppola's use of music in her films such as Lost in Translation makes her an obvious choice for us, though as yet we are still at the talking stage."
