Spring/Summer 2005 Runway Music

I loved the fact that Zac Posen used Paul McCartney's Temporary Secretary in his Fall 2004 show.

In the past few seasons I've been impressed with the music used in the L.A. Fashion Week shows of Frankie B., Ashley Paige and Susanelizabeth. It's soundtracky 60s to 80s rock that fits the California mood. I'm not really talking about the clothes or design innovations.

Also, I thought it was a special moment when Behnaz Sarafpour went with "Just Like Honey" last season.

Typically, I like house and/or anything cheeky.

The worst is that electronic muzak Fashiontrance plays on top of the edited shows instead of the original tunes.

Music is really just as important as the design to convey a mood or something no?

One of the best songs would be "Terrapin (Mr. Scruff Remix)" by Bonobo... This guy is a downbeat god!!!

I found it hard to choose just one:here are some of my fave ones:
Chicks on Speed
Miss Kitty
Goldfrapp
Les Clones
Gotan Project
Bajofondo Tango Club

Felicitas Hume
Buenos Aires

Best songs ever used-"Sinnerman" by Nina Simone for Dior f/w 04 and "Nothing Compares To U" by Sinead O'Conner for Gucci f/w 03.

if music is to add emotional dimension rather then some historical/social/insert other to the show then "nothing compares to you" was more than perfect for that show. "running up that hill" by kate bush at the first kim jones show was very powerful too. could it be that the "bigger" the song or sample they use the more people it affects?

Basically almost everything that Jeremy Healy puts together for the Dior/Galliano shows....JG RTW fw 05  and CD RTW fw 04
