Stephan Schneider F/W 07.08 "You'll Always Find Me in the Kitchen at Parties"

images are a little bad quality even on the website :ninja:
sort of hard to focus
anyway i like the feel of the shots too
quiet like you guys say

Thank you so much for doing that, Heb! :woot:

I really do love the mood of these images. My coat is the one in the bottom right of that first batch, but it's black.

I think it's just a different ethos of clothing design altogether, one which seeks to create a wardrobe for its customer, rather than make a specific contribution to Fashion. VB does this too, and of course Margiela, with the 4 and 14 lines. It's anti-fashion dressing really, and I'm very drawn to it as well. I'm not quite sure what's new about it, but it's certainly something different; and there's something very appealing in its ease, quiet, and coherence. I suppose easy and coherent is rather boring to some people though...:ninja:

Glad to hear that about the Baudelaire, btw...:flower:

Berlin and helena...no catwalk for womenswear.

The clothes are quiet, but a little bit more unique than you give him credit for I think. He's a textile designer as well as a tailor and a stylist. I think that's probably the thing that gives him a special appeal for me. Some of the tweeds and crochet knits in the current season, for example, are real works of art. But you need to have and hold them to appreciate.

I really envy your trip(s?) to the Antwerp store, for precisely this reason.

gius, did you know he designs his own textiles? :innocent:

:p

His store in Antwerp was amazing, cleverly designed to make the most out of the small space.

His clothes were charming, too. Unfortunately, when I tried on some gorgeous shirts with very nice detailing, they were too snug in my shoulders (I also experienced this with Branquinho's clothes), much to my dismay. The SA joked that I shouldn't work out too hard.

The clothes look, and feel, so much better in person, I agree!

wow some lovely pieces!

I've liked a lot of mens stuff I've seen at stores and this very similar in a good way. I like the fact that he has some very similar designs for men and women. especially the trench coats are awesome!

steam, thats the only reason i didnt get anything. he had a couple of really beautiful spring jackets that i wanted but they fit a bit tightly round my shoulders. such a shame i was cursed with heinous broad shoulders..

Scott, it's reassuring to know that I'm not alone in that department, lol. The chest and waist part of the shirts and jackets fit me perfectly, except for the shoulders. The bigger size just didn't fit right. Perhaps they were geared toward Japanese frames?

I think I can get away with the knits but they were too warm and hence, impractical, to wear where I live.
